So I took my new gen4 Glock 19 to the range for the first time. I have been shooting pistols for almost 10 years now, and am a good shot but am always looking to improve technique. My only other Glock is a gen2 21.
I am super impressed after testing this gun out with 100 rounds. I have never shot a handgun so accurately. After the first 10 rounds I was able to take the target out to 20-25 yards and consistently hit the paper's center head portion with every shot. Recoil was very mild and the 19 ran like a clock. I appreciate other makes including 1911s but am completely sold on this one.

Ta ta toothy, yes I shoot mine better than any polymer I have. Muzzle flip is mild and shoot it better than my g23 and it has very fast follow up shots.

A friend used to have nothing nice to say about Glocks - 'til he shot my 19 - needless to say, about two weeks later he had a brand new Gen 4 in his hands.

Closing in on 4,000 rounds through mine and it runs like all my other Glocks.

Yup - G19 is hard to beat. You can make a strong case for it being the best firearm made in the last 25 years, or so.

The G19 is definitely hard to beat. I've had a G20 and still have a G17, but nothing seems to hit the sweet spot in terms of size, caliber and handling characteristics like the G19. Once you get the hang of riding Glock triggers, they are wonderfully accurate and easy to shoot.

It's a perfect all around pistol size! I love my 23C.
It's perfect for carry, plinking and home defense.
Shoot there's tons of 9 ammo in my area for $15.99 a box and no sales tax:-D But I shoot 40:eek:

In God and Glock we Trust

Of all the handguns I have shot, the most natural feel in point of aim and trigger pull, the Glock 19 beats it all. I also have the subcompact Glock 36 in .45 and a full sized GLock 22 in .40, but the G19 still shoots the best.

I can't tell any difference in the performance of my 10mm, .45ACP and 9mm Glocks. The only reason the first Glocks were 9mm was because that was the caliber requested by the Austrian army.

The "goodness" of the Glock design isn't unique to the 9mm, thank Gawd!

Speaking of 9mm shortage! One shooting club has offered to buy all the 9mm that I can produce @ $.60 per round. Who'd a thunk it??

State your case..

1. Reliability - I have had 3 stovepipes (all with Korean mags) in over 10,000 rounds of filthy Russian steel cased ammo.
2. Commonality- Because it is so ubiquitous you can always find parts and mags. During the recent craziness you could always find Glock 17/19 mags. Good luck finding a mag for a Sig 2022, S&W or whatever else you feel is similar. The same can be said for night sights, springs, etc.
3. Simplicity - ANYONE with a punch and roll of duct tape, can change out any part on a Glock. Also a Glock is idiot proof.
4. Price - I purchased one a year ago NIB for $420. There is nothing even close at this range. I can keep them all over the place.

Done!

My Glock 17 was my first center fire hand gun. I have tons of classier pieces now, but the Glock is dead nuts accurate, reliable, and holds a ton of ammo. What's not to like?

I'm still amazed at how well I like shooting my Gen 4 G19. I really don't think there is a better all-purpose pistol around.

The MFer eats everything. Is accurate. After-market parts are EVERYWHERE. It can be self-smithed by anyone with average intelligence. I can't imagine ever selling my G19. I can justify getting rid of anything else (as a trade up for something else), but I really don't think I could sleep well at night knowing that I let my G19 get away. :)
