Trade my S&W M10 to CZ97

So I am at the gun show and a fellow just offered to swap my well worn police turn in S&W M10 3" to a CZ 97 no box 1 mag.

He wants 175 between them. Am I a fool if I don't go do it?

I wasn't looking for a .45 but I'm always looking for a CZ. Fellow is firm on price, I just can't make up my mind.

Well couldn't do it. I gotta be honest its the first CZ I've handled that I didn't like the way it fit my mitt.

I did pick up an extra CZ 82 on the way out though.

I have a CZ97, and I love it, so I would have been tempted, but the Model 10's are very nice as well.

The two guns fill vastly different niches.

Think you did the right thing. I don't think I could ever give up a 3" model 10 if I had one. Now you have her and a nice 82 to boot.

The CZ-97B is a large gun with a large grip, and it does not fit everyone. I have large hands with long fingers so it is perfect for me. I prefer a longer trigger reach especially with the CZ's that enable you to fire from the half cock notch or in single action mode, cocked and locked.

Is Cave City near Mammoth Cave? I used to live in Lexington.

Yes Cave City is at the south entrance to Mammoth Cave NP.

I've consolidated pistol calibres to 9mm Mak, 9mm para, 38/357, and rimfire. If I add any back it will be 45 acp or maybe a CZ in TOK. I love the way my CZ75s and 82s fit my hand, and I've admired the 97 from afar. But the gun show was the first one I ever picked up, and it did not seat well in my hand. I don't think I would've been able to control it very well. I didnt realize that it was a bit larger in the grip than a 75 until I picked it up.
I liked it but if I'm not comfortable holding a weapon I figured I'd be less so shooting it.
