Trail Gun

Depends on the season for me. Usually I have my 329 PD. Sometimes I carry a 4 inch 617 with it if I'm not going to be walking all day long. But other days I carry a 10mm semi-auto of some flavor.

In my opinion it all depends on where the trail is.

I walk trails daily, on the property, and I'm trying also to control pest species. The 5.7 caliber lends itself to this application well. The FN model is very light, but pricey. Can't speak for the Ruger model. Have occasionally taken the S&W Governor, also very light, with a couple rounds of 410 for snakes, and 4 rounds of 45LC.

Very nice! I’ve always had a soft spot for those M77’s with the Zytel stocks. Would love to find one in .22 Mag.

If it ever goes on the market...you know where to find me.
One of the grandsons will get it some (hopefully) distant day. Glad you like it. I know I do. Carried it by now more miles than that damned old M-16.

I think these fit the trail gun niche nicely.

L-R...SS7 in .327 FM, White and black handled .32 H&R SS's and a SS7 in.327 FM (my current personal favorite for a grab and go trail gun when large predators aren't a concern).

Awesome collection you have there. I am coming to the realization that .32 or .327 in a Ruger single six or seven size frame makes an ideal kit/trail.
