I'd like to give my Daughter and Son-in-Law a paid for course at a
range for gun handling. He has some knowledge and shot .22s with buddies
in his teens. I took my daughters out once when they were 9 & 13 with a
single shot .22 LR - we took turns shooting at a corboard box at a friends in the country. Isolated and they had a small orchard. At some point I was taking my turn and a sparrow landed on top of the cardboard box. It was a kneejerk action on my point I just shifted over and bang it went down.
I tried to save the day saying that's why guns are to be treated with
respect once you pull the trigger blah blah

My older daughter is now a HS teacher in Spokane. SOme of my
friends who are my age and teach in the Spokane Valley
have respect for he, they wouldn't want to teach there.
They did have a Lock DOwn once when a kid had a handgun
and he basically commited suicide by cop. WHen he
didn't put down the weapon and started to make the move...

So, now she doesn't want a gun in her home. I was thinking
if they took the course and something happened at
the HS she would at least know the operation of a revolver or
sermi-auto.

I guess I'm just venting - I respect her choice but I don't have
to like it. My younger daughter is a Sociol WOrker but
her clients are 65 and older and her husband to be seems more gun
friendly - Younger daughter does keep a pit bull that is protective.
