Uberti 1858 Remington nipple upgrade.

I have an Uberti 1858 Remington with standard nipples that I want to upgrade to size 11 to fit Winchester Magnum BP caps. That's all I got plus a size 11 cap maker that ain't got here yet. No more size 10 caps in the cap-apocolypse.

I had no problem on Track of the Wolf finding size 11 nipples for my Colt Walkers. I got 5 cylinders so I bought 30.

However they seem to only carry Pietta Remington nipples. I see I could get nipples from slix shot but they don't bother to say what size the nipples are or what caps might work. (Not that you can actually buy caps in the cap-apocolypse.

The gun sure looks pretty but I don't want to pinch on them nipples. (I tried that with some girls and they got mad. )

Where can I get size 11 for this Uberti? I need 30

IDK if each of the brands of caps fit the Slixshot or the TOW nipples as advertised since they all have different spec's, but it would be best to test how the caps fit on the nipples before installing and using them.
While Winchester magnum caps are made by CCI, their extra primer material may affect how far down they seat on the nipple and how snug they fit.

Badman Bullets states they have Slixshots for Uberti in stock. I have the Pietta version and they take CCI #11 just fine. I wouldn't expect any difference beside the threads. Buy 1 set and try them out.

If you have a caliper and a file you can make the nipples you have take a # 11 cap. Put the nipple in a drill chuck and turn it down with the file. You are looking for .165 to .170 diameter about halfway down the shank.

In my experience the slixshot nipples work with the Rem. #10s, CCI 11s and RWS 1075s. I'd say actually in that order on best fit.

The RWS takes a little extra push to seat but they still fit well, no pinching necessary on any of them.

Rws are the best of the best. Even though remingtin fit better rws have a lil more ooomph!

Slixshots work with remington 11s too...its all i have available to me. Id recommend Uncle Mikes stainless nipples...you can get a really really good deal from The Gun Works. Its like 25 bux shipped. They are high quality too.

I bought some stainless nips for my Uberti New Model Army-Navy caliber, from the track. Don't know who made them, or if they are the Uncle Mike's. They did cost around $25.00. Seems like I had to kind of search hard and go by thread size to figure out if they would fit the Uberti. Anyhow, CCI #11's, both standard and magnum fit well. Remington 10's and 11's fit well, RWS are too loose, and then I have a mystery tin if Remington caps that don't indicate any size on the tin, and they are too loose.

I just tried some slixshots today for the first time on my '62, and all the Remington 10's and 11's fit well, as did the CCI #11's, standard and magnum, although I shot it with the last of my Rem #10's. (well I have four left now, and some in my capper)
