I have a few questions for Ultimak users.

1. How do you like the product? Is it solid?

2. Have any of you used an EoTech mounted on one? If so, did you need to alter your cheek weld? Was the EoTech sitting too high?

EoTech's really impress me. I want to mount one on a .223 Vepr as part of my next project, but looking at the EoTech compared to a standard red dot like the Aimpoint, it seems to sit a little higher. I just want to make sure that the EoTech will not sit too high to get a good tight cheek weld.

And another question, does it get hot enough to damage your electronic optics? I'm looking into options for a 3gun rifle, so it is going to get shot a lot, really fast.

I use one on my Mini-14. The rail does get hot. I actually called Aimpoint and asked if this would be a problem on the CompML2. The guy kind of laughed. Nope.

I use an UltiMak on my M1 Carbine. It is a scout rig with a Leupold
2.5X28 EER.
I used it in a Louis Awerbuck Carbine class. Fired about 500 rds in 24 hours of instruction. Most was quick fire some rapid fire and more than a little at ripping speed. The UltiMak mount never failed and the scope always returned to zero with leupold QR lever mounts.
The carbine by the way was superb. One failure to extract, no other failures at all. I can't wait to get some CorBon Powerball. The Remington
Softpoints have a good stopping power rate but the Powerball should be better.

I have the Ultimak on a couple of my AK's. I dont have an EoTech, but I did try it with a Hakko hollo type sight I do have. They do tend to sit a little high and it wasnt as easy or as fast to use as the tube type dot sights I have on them now. The cheapie BSA sight with the integral mount will allow you to co-witness the iron sights and the Busnell sight will, but only at the 400m setting and above. Its not really a biggie if you use a knock off mount as they will pop right off. The lower you keep the sight, the easier and more natural it is to shoot. My cheek weld is basically the same as my iron sights using the tube type sights.

I have an UltiMAK on my MAK-90 Sporter. During some fairly rapid-fire the cheap red dot I was using flew apart, but the scope itself was still very cool. Unless you bumpfire a whole 100 round drum I dont see the gun getting hot enough to damage a scope or dot.
