For a range gun and full power loads a 6” GP-100 or 686. I have the Ruger and it has not once had any kind of problems in 4500 rounds and is very accurate. If I come across a 4” I’d carry it and be well served.
I like fixed sights
S&W 681 is my only 357
For me it is my Freedom Arms 353. It is the most accurate revolver i have ever owned, and it can be loaded up with some pretty hefty charges that get it close to Maximum velocities. One and only one revolver?
Either a Smith Classic 586, a Python 2020, a new Manurhin 73 or a Korth.
What, no one likes a Willi-made Korth?
Doug Turnbull can make that happenTo pair with a workin' man's Marlin? I'm thinking a custom lever gun would pair with a Korth a bit better.
Doug Turnbull can make that happen

And for those who say "You ever notice no one shows the side with the lock."
Finally shot my pre-safety Marlin 1894 357 magnum today and boy oh boy...What in the world have I been missing? Such a pleasant and satisfying firearm to shoot!
After thinking about it I believe a 6" barrel is the ticket
I agree about barrel length - for 357, 3" is best for carry over 2 or 2.5, 5 inches for woods carry or nightstand beats 4" IMO. S&W has their 3, 5, 7 series with barrels lengths of the same
