They make a special lube for this already. Its expensive.I agree. Seems redundant.

I called wd40 they said it was fine.You should avoid using anything in an ultrasonic cleaner that has a flashpoint as low as WD40.

I don't think I even own WD40 anymore. Most things have their place, but I have grown to fully hate that stuff.
I agree, and I sonicate disassembled parts to avoid unintended parts rubbing due to the sonic waves. And I NEVER sonicate sights.A mild solution of hot water & Dawn or aircraft safe Simple Green for cleaning. Hot water rinse. Isopropyl alcohol for removing any residual moisture. Lubricate as needed.
