Interesting. Mine came with a perfectly milled and fitted rail: in reverse. Meaning that the rail sloped down toward the buttstock. I couldn’t get it closer than 6 inches low at 25 yards with the scopes “up” adjustment maxed out. I called Ruger and they wanted the whole gun back. While I was listening I noticed the relief cuts for the ejection port and bolt were on the rifles left, or bolt release, side. I convinced them it was a freak occurrence and they then shipped me the “correct” rail. Had I known they offered a 0 degrees unit I would have asked for that. Like you, I’m not interested in a + 100 yard rifle. I’m hoping I don’t waste yet another range outing only to have to call them back for a 3rd rail.
It’s amazing what gets shipped from the factory in today’s shooting sports market.
