Enjoy your Ruger Precision Rimfire. I do mine.

A picture of my rifle and a target. The bottom was to sight in. The top left is at 50 yards, all the rest were at 100 yards. Shot from a rest. It likes Aguila ammunition, which happened to be the first I shot through it. It dosen't feed well with the 15 round magazines but the 10 rounders work fine.

I'm impressed!!! It must have a great barrel and tight headspace.

How light is the trigger pull?

Nice shooting greg _ . Accuracy like that will sell a few of those .

I switched scopes to a Mueller 8-32X44 side focus and ran out of down elevation for targets at 25 and 50 yards. I called Ruger customer service and they are sending me a 0 MOA scope base free of charge to replace the factory 30 MOA base. I'm not planning on doing any 300+ yard shooting with this gun

I bought one and put a Hawke 6-24X50 scope on it and really like how it shoots. Next door neighbor bought one also and he has yet to beat me but I am still teaching him some finer points of rifle shooting. I am still trying to find what ammo it likes best. Only tried it at 50 yards so far but once I get the ammo chosen I want to try it on my 100 yard range and then maybe a little further.

Interesting. Mine came with a perfectly milled and fitted rail: in reverse. Meaning that the rail sloped down toward the buttstock. I couldn’t get it closer than 6 inches low at 25 yards with the scopes “up” adjustment maxed out. I called Ruger and they wanted the whole gun back. While I was listening I noticed the relief cuts for the ejection port and bolt were on the rifles left, or bolt release, side. I convinced them it was a freak occurrence and they then shipped me the “correct” rail. Had I known they offered a 0 degrees unit I would have asked for that. Like you, I’m not interested in a + 100 yard rifle. I’m hoping I don’t waste yet another range outing only to have to call them back for a 3rd rail.
It’s amazing what gets shipped from the factory in today’s shooting sports market.

How was your reversed rail marked? My 30 MOA rail was so stamped at the rear.

will it accept the 10rd mags?

Yes it accepts all Ruger 10/22 style magazines. The RPR is available in 2 models: 8400 comes with one 15 round BX-15 magazine and the 8401 comes with two 10 round BX-1 magazines.

click the link at the very beginning of my original post for Ruger's info for this gun

then Google search "Ruger Precision Rimfire" for a multitude of reviews

My only serious complaint is that the adjustable buttstock only adjusts UP. Which is ridiculous, it’s almost a straight line from the bolt cover to the heel of the stock as issued. Why would anyone want to raise it farther? I’d love to drop it a couple inches, but that’s out. Maybe they’ll offer a larger one in the future.

Yes, it will accept any of the Ruger rotary mags.

If you check out the reviews on the rifles, you hear a lot about the rifle not working well with the 15 and 25 round mags. The fix is to put tape on the mags to shim it.

Mine did not feed well with the BX15 mag that came with it, but it needs perfectly with the 10 round mags I have.

I took mine off and flipped it 180°...the pad contour and Ruger label will be upside down...but it sure fits my shoulder better. Function over form for now! This is an item owners should write or call Ruger about for a design change.

I flipped mine around just now. Looks kinda bad (although the rifle is not sporty and gorgeous to begin with), but it does feel better. Thanks for the tip.
Does Ruger have a Hotline for suggestions and/or complaints?

I switched scopes to a Mueller 8-32x44 Side Focus Target scope and couldn't zero at 50 yards with the factory 30 MOA scope base. Called Ruger CS and they sent me out a 0 MOA base for free.

Now I need to resolve the problem with fliers...I have contacted CS by their online form and am awaiting a reply. I thought the magazine alignment that was causing lead to be shaved off rounds when chambering was the culprit but it still throws fliers when cartridges are loaded manually into the chamber. The magazine alignment issue still needs to be addressed though.
