i think we are being unkind to the original OP. He bought those gun , thinking he might have a use for it and all we’ve done is belittle his choice.. I congratulate him on having the courage to buy a unusual gun, and he might find a very good use for it... I have a long barreled handgun and enjoy it a lot., so instead. Of belittling him, let’s encourage him.

I'm with Bones. I was looking for powder burns on the paper. lol

That would be a good hunting gun, as long as you hunt from a box stand with a rest.

I like it. Should be a lot of fun.

Didn't intend for my post to come across as belittling. It was more of a joke to how long the barrel is. It is indeed a very cool revolver, never knew Taurus even made a barrel that long. I'm glad it appears to be very accurate for the OP. I'm glad the OP is enjoying his new gun.

Didn't think jokes were against the rules. Lighten up a little.

I didn't take it as belittling. I thought it was funny as hell! Actually that was the first thing I told one of my buddies. The group should look good, as the muzzle is only a foot from the target! I'm probably the biggest smart ass in the world. It would take a lot more than that to upset me. I love a joke as much as the next

Glad to hear it. I wonder what kind of velocities that thing is getting.

By the time the bullet exist the barrel all of the powder has burned up.
I think it’s a cool gun.
Finding a holster is going to be hard. You might have to get one that fits across your back.
 
First thing I thought of was the movie 'Johnny Dangerously' and the revolver Joe Piscopo's character carried. Very nice find indeed.

ETA: I'd imagine a shoulder or cross-chest holster such as they make for T/C pistols might work.

Well Eddie you've done it again! This time it's not some well preserved and rare S&W revolver but a Taurus with a barrel on it that looks like a little flag with the word "BANG" on it should roll down the barrel!

Actually I think this gun is pretty unique and if the price was right I might have considered getting it not only for it's novelty but also for it's potential accuracy (though I would maybe consider getting a bipod for it)!

OMG!! Have the people in Texas lost their since of humor? ;)
We're just poking fun at Eddie. I think that all of us would love the chance to shoot his new gun and think that it is very cool. :thumbup:
 
I had a old three screw blackhawk made up with a 10'' barrel, I won a few target matches with it, the longest barrel I have now is a smith 27 with a 8 3/8'' barrel gotta love the long barrel's
