I was offered $650 for this pistol which I think is a little on the low side. Or is it? On line prices are anywhere from $600 to over a $1000 so I'm kinda stumped. I bought it used about 15 years ago and probably shot less than 200 rounds through it since then.
Excellent condition with a barely noticeable turn ring. Original grips. No box or paperwork. Adjustable sights and super clean.
Use to know the manufacture date (I think it is early 90's) SN# ACK2010 if someone could help me with that.
Any help appreciated

If it were mine, I wouldn't sell it for $650. While the 4" will normally bring a little more than the 6" I think the offer is light by $100 at least. I have a no dash 4" that has the AAA serial number so its a real early one and I wouldn't sell it for less than $800

Nickel L frames are uncommon, and prelock guns are desirable. I definitely wouldn't let it go for less than $800 even if I wanted to move it. Not actively selling? More like $1,200.

IMO an opening offer of $650 isn't all that bad. I don't think you will get more than $750. That gun is both all that rare, I think maybe 1/3 of them were in Nickel. (I could be wrong) That said, I would not sell it if it were mine.

Seems like a much lower ratio than that, at least in these parts. I don't think even one in eight I see is nickel.

Personally, I prefer blue or stainless for most guns, but a nickel L frame does look pretty nice.

Like I said, I could be wrong.

As for a silver M586, it's not for me. If I wanted a silver one I would buy a M686. I really like the blue and walnut of the M586.

586s are just plain less common. I like nickel myself and would pay a premium for it. I also like the 6” barrel better than 4” for that gun. (More barrel means more nickel:rofl:)

I would pay $750. No more though. I also think that $650 is a reasonable offer but I think you can get more.

Haven't really seen all that many 586s, blued or nickel. I also think $650 is a bit low; I would go with $750 to $850 as a price range if it were mine.

In my neck of the woods I'd be surprised if it was advertised at under $1200 on our section of armslist because, "I know what I've got and what it's worth, no low balls" where it'll sit for 6 months and slowly creep down in price.

If you could only get $750, I'd keep it unless bills need payed desperately.

Prices seem to vary quite a bit regionally on the 686. Here in NW Pennsylvania where I am we tend towards the lower end of the price range. The nickel 586 is somewhat uncommon and no kickboxing with the original target stocks are all a plus. I think the offer is low but not by a whole lot. Around here, I would ask $800, but be prepared to accept $725. A "selling to my best friend" price would be $650. In other regions I am I would bet you could easily get $800-850

"ACK" is, in all likelihood, a 1983 manufacture.

As a collectible No-Dashes are great. As shooters they suffer from the stainless, non-replaceable front sight.
