There's your problem. How can you define someone who has a gun as a "victim"? That's what's so twisted about the logic of the anti's. They can deny us status as "victims" while with the same lips they're trying to make sure that we can become victims of criminals and faceless bureaucrats. Kinda makes your head hurt, don't it? :banghead:

If the truth brings on fear then so be it. I would rather own a gun than not, how about you?

I cannot think of a more abusive President than Bill Clinton. He did nothing in eight years. The economy on which he so loudly trumpets as his crowning achievement was actually the work of Alan Greenspan. Willie cannot even make change from a dollar.

A President doesn't have the full weight of law. We have checks and balances. In fact, I'm beginning to wonder if our modern Presidents have any power at all as envisioned by The Framers. Considering the "advise and consent" aspect of choosing judges, the President has become a shadow as a spokesman.

Your guns are safe. HBO cannot even direct the workings of Illinois famous "machine."

I have real trouble beliving that statement. If you take Pelosis actions in the House and BOs beliefs together then the door is open for new controls.

It is'nt BO by himself, it is the democrats who control the House and Senate that will help him get his wants of gun control.

And no matter what they do, it has to go through the courts.

With all of the unpopularity of Roe vs. Wade, it's been +30 years since that decision has languished.

There is no "fast track" in government. There are many conspiracy theorists that believe JFK died because he wouldn't implement arms merchants.

Even if HBO started to move on firearms in his first day of office, nothing substantial would ever be done in my lifetime.

I think we're missing the big picture here, and that picture is us, not them. I would say that gun owners and the NRA - no matter how much the NRA may irritate you - have done a good job in putting the anti-gunners against the wall. I think some of the people here are still sore from the 1994-2004 period, and need to realize that this is 2008, and that alot of big things have gone our way.

Clinton never did have any effect.

There was no weapons "ban." You could buy anything you wanted during the entire period of the enactment.

I went to a gun show and saw one dealer make a little igloo with dozens of high-cap magazines. In my area, the cost of a thirty shot AK magazine leveled at nine dollars.

The only weapon I own that came with Brady magzines is my .40 SW USP. Simply, the pistol works fine with them and I'm too lazy to go find high-caps.

In the reality of the situation--where the war and the economy are the red meat issues--HBO will be one of the most useless Presidents since Jimmy Carter. Assuming he wins.

Yep, tell that to the guys in California. The atmosphere was created by the Clintons for gun bans and California is proof that it can happen.

In the 1950's most people on North 36th Street, my boyhood stomping grounds, built a bomb shelter in their back yards.

About six blocks from my house, at that time, was a Nike site. My Dad took me there for a tour.

My first kindergarten class was in an old Army barracks which served that area.

    Doom and gloom.

    Just Jim, thanks.

    Picard, you're welcome.

Yes, this is very much about guns. That's why I posted it in the "General" section.

Try to buy a AR in California if you want Doom and Gloom. It's a small world you live in and when the rest of the world reaches you the shock will be enlightening.

BO is bad for our gun rights. NO BO

    tout au contraire

A world of draconian taxes will crush our personal freedoms.

One real measure of personal freedom is how much money the government lets you keep to spend for yourself, e.g., guns and ammo, as you see fit. In the old Soviet Union, the communists took almost 100% of the people’s earnings in their “worker’s paradise”. They created a prison state of slaves. It’s an old axiom in politics -- and economics -- that the more you tax the people, the more you can control them.

One last retort here. When the Clintons sent in Reno and the BATF to burn down Waco to get their guns I am sure those people were gratified that the law was on their side.

NRA money grab or not, Obama wants your guns. An Obama Administration would be a nightmare for the Second Amendment.

In one of his European speeches, he demanded that the wall between rich and poor be taken down. Now that's scary.

More that a bit extreme. Obama will be bad for Gun owners but not as bad as they are making it.

    Oh and IBTL.

100% correct... but please don't cloud the issue with the facts! The NRA haters can't handle it.

For those apparently many here who despise the National Rifle Association because it asks for donations to fight the Marxist Socialist Fascist gun grabbers, and preaches -- ohh, horrors, gloom & doom! -- you should be aware that the ONLY reason you still legally own a firearm(s) today, is quite simply because the NRA has been fighting to preserve your, my, our Right to own firearms, for many, many years. Much longer than many of you have been alive. (And as I've been a member of the NRA for 55 years, I know what I'm talking about!)

You also might ask yourselves, of the myriad anti-guns-owned-by-the-worker-peasants laws that have been passed since Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt became President, how many of them orginated with the Democrats?? 99% of them. (Yeah, a few have come from the RINO side of the aisle, but very few.)

Those of you who resent the money requirements of the NRA in order to lobby the leeches in D.C., State capitols, etc., you don't know one single thing about how politics and lobbying work. Without money, and a lot of it, the NRA can not even begin to compete with the billions of $$$$ that the Marxist Socialist Fascists feed to anti-guns Democrats, urging them to vote away our Rights.

Anyone here heard of George Soros, or Michael Bloomberg, or any of a number of extreme left wing billionaires and mega-millionaires who donate gigantic sums of money to the gun grabbers?

If we don't combat those wannabee tyrants -- with money!! -- then boys and girls, just kiss your guns and Rights goodbye, 'cause they ain't just playing around. :fire:
