Video: Shot loads for '60 Army

I loaded a couple of cylinders with just 10 grains of 3f Goex, followed by a wad, then topped of the cylinder with #8 shot, and another wad. Worked pretty good.

In the past I've tried Wonder Wads, and have been disappointed with them. I cut some wads for this experiment out of e-flute corrugated containerboard. E-flute is or was the thinnest corrugated made. It's thinner than pizza boxes. It is still much stiffer than cardboard, and does a much better job holding in the shot. I only used 10 grains of powder so I wouldn't blow the center out of the shot charge.

I believe this would make a great vermin load out to maybe even 5 or 6 yards.

Interesting video pulp. Have you given any thought to trying some thin cereal-box cardboard for wads? I've used it for years for overshot wads in my 12ga. M/L scattergun. Works fine in that application.

I use cereal box type cardboard for overpowder wads in my .45-70. I've never used any overpowder wads for cap and ball unless just playin' around with a new idea.
