Range time with my 1860 Army

I've often thought of having a very small dovetail rifle front sight and very small dovetail rear sight milled into my barrel. I've seen examples of both on old guns. One of Hickocks Colt Navy pistols has a small dovetail front sight.

The front dovetail, at least, could offer a windage adjustment option.
I've considered it.

Worked great on a spiffy little fixed sight Ruger Single-Six I have.

The old original, tiny 1911 rear sight looks like it would be a good rear. I have a real small silver blade in copper dovetail base I'd like to use for the front. I also have a two or three leaf rear, not sure what it came from. Have a rear from a Colt (Officers?) target, just like the flat top targets, but has the tiny lock screw. That one probably needs a wide frame to work well. Not sure what I'm going to do, but been thinking about it a while.

Plan on doing one of those Remmies later in the year.
Mike'll get it, too.

Good to hear Mike. :) For all Colts or just the 1860 Army?

They just keep making the Remington better and better. Hard not to notice.

1860 army

it is one of the most streamlined pistols ever designed, both in fit and finish! SAM COLT got it right!
