Wait time at Model 1 Sales?

I have been considering buying a new AR15 upper, but I had delayed to consider what I really want and to let the post-election craziness subside, at least a little. Now, I see that Model 1 Sales seems to have just what I'm looking for in an assembled upper. I know some people don't like Model 1, but I've always had excellent results with their assembled uppers. So, I hope this doesn't degenerate into a Model 1 bashing thread or a string of alternate suggestions for where I might do my AR15 shopping. OK?

All I want to know is if anyone knows the current wait time on an assembled upper at Model 1. At this point, am I looking at days, weeks, or months? Those with recent or current ordering experience are greatly appreciated. Also, if I do have to wait a while, does Model 1 charge your credit card when you order or when they ship? Thanks!

Don't know about the time, but what type of upper are you looking for? I have a model 1 M4 type flat top upper for sale with BCG and CH included.

They are working on orders from Late Dec 08 now, a thread on the AR forum people are updating with ship dates. I have a Jan order in. A lot of it depends on rest of market, a big slowdown and maybe they can get in parts quicker. You should probably expect 5-12 months, I think that will be fairly accurate. J&T is said to be ~2-3 months, Deltron has a similar wait as Model 1. You will get your place in line and only be charged when order is ready to ship with all these vendors.

Thanks for the info, c5_nc. atblis, what exactly do you have and how much use is on it? Does it have a chromed bore and chamber? Does it have any "extras" (i.e. railed handguards, BUIS, etc.)?

It is a complete upper from M1S, not assembled from parts. No extras. M4 type flat top. I do not think the barrel is chromed, the carrier does appear to be chromed. Has ~50 rounds through it.

It is a 14.5" barrel, but I have a Phantom 5C1 flash suppressor which would bring it up to legal length (when permanently attached). I'll include that for $20 (that's below cost).
