I am waiting on my NV resident permit, I have waited over 3 months and still nothing:mad: So the local Sheriffs office has their part done and are waiting on the feds(which supposedly are backed up) - anyone else had/having a similar problem. One fellow in my class applied for the UT non-resident permit the same time as his NV permit and UT complied in a little over two weeks - good work Utah!

we walk out w/ ours the same day here (maybe have to wait for 5 minutes or so... sometimes 10 if you're a comedian and pay w/ a $20 and make the deputy have to go get change)... so, no... haven't had that problem.

I remember my mail order Utah permit came back to me faster than it took me to get my home state of PA's 5 years earlier. I needed a set of fingerprint cards and needed to call Utah for them; my local courthouse was unable to produce a set. I recall the gal answering the phone was extremely courteous and eager to help, which I mentally noted was unusual in a state employee. She also said, without my asking, that she sees a large number of requests come in, and that after they do their own instant background check, she usually just mails the permit right out. Said they don't wait for the FBI to run the prints. If something comes up off the prints in the intertim, "We'll get the permit back . . . "

It took less than 3 weeks I guess from that phone call. Must be something in that salt water out there . . .

Douglas County Colorado advertised 6-8 weeks.

Mine took 8 1/2, but not as if I was counting.

It took 6 months for me in Georgia. I was told the the delay was from the FBI being overloaded with CCW requests.

When I got mine here in PA 3 years ago, I filled out the form, waited 5 minutes for a background check, then got my picture taken, paid the nice lady, and walked out with a LTCF in under a total of 30 minutes...

Other counties are different though, not all are instant....

It took me 16 min from walking in to walking out, including time to fill out the paperwork and chat with the county clerk.

Allegheny County, PA.

For my AZ one, I can't quite remember, back in '98 or so it was a week or two. I got my Texas one recently. by law, they are supposed to issue or deny within 60 days. Took them 61 days from reciept of my paperwork at DPS to reciept of my permit. Texas has been known to make people wait 80 or more days, so I think I did well.

Different smokes for different folks..different waits for different states. Can't address NY, but my Texas CHL took 66 days from class to carry.

I understand that NV. is a standard 120 days, even for renewals.
Here in Co. you can expect to wait 4-8 weeks, but I have seen them as quick as 1 week. Mine took 4 weeks.

K40, I am sorry to hear you have been waiting 90 days. It really makes me feel bad when I hear about states that give fellow Americans such a hard time. I have friends in MD and NJ and they all have had issues getting CCW.

In the generous state of Pennsylvania, it was very easy. After the paperwork was done and a $19 fee was paid, it was literally a 15 minute wait.

I feel for you and other THR members who live in states that hinder or restrict CCW or buying firearms. Hang in there!

Around 3 weeks for mine in Oregon after I applied (this was 8 years ago). The biggest problem was the Mult. Co. Sheriff office (the county I was living in at the time) only processed these permits on Thursdays so I had to take time off work to go get fingerprinted and get my mug shots taken. Kinda makes you feel like a criminal for excercising your rights huh. :scrutiny:

thanks everybody..

I thought NV was up there with gun rights...I live in rural NV, and my local cop shop rates high with me(I work with them regularly), actually the one who is in charge of the CCW's is my relative - she is honest and actually set the whole process up by herself...but you know - feds...

I am still waiting - I can only check the mail so many times....

it is kinda late, but I am now going to send in my UT non-res. permit - and see which one comes first.:uhoh:

I've noticed slow turn around times for a number of states and their CCWs.

Get a hold of your state reps and get them to implement a change in the CCW laws for a faster turn around.

Here in WA state, at least in my county turn around is 1-2 weeks max and the state allows up to 30 days. I've seen permits issued in 1 day, but that's super rare. Renewals only take about 15-20 minutes.

I just applied yesterday in Michigan and was told 2 to 4 months. Fee was $105
If it's Wayne county:mad: you live in, it will be all of that. It was 4 months for me the first time. When I renewed, they told me it was a shorter period for renewals. Bull. It took me even longer the second time.:fire: Other counties are quick, so they can't blame it on the feds. A friend of mine waited 2 weeks in Macomb.

I detest wayne county!

.I feel for you bro. I've only been waiting 5 weeks. But, as another poster said, they have 120 days in NV to get you the permit, and I know that Clark County takes all of it. I don't know about other areas of NV. I just got my Utah permit yesterday, application mailed the same day that I submitted my NV application at the Metro Police finger printing office. I expect to have my Florida permit in another month or 2, also before I get the NV one. It sucks that I will have 2 out of state permits before my home state. But, I'm happy that I live in a SHALL ISSUE state, and that I will get the permit, it just takes a little time. I had to leave Nevada for 5 years in the People's Republic of California, where I would never have the legal ability to carry a gun, concealed or otherwise

Same here. Rural NV, the county to the east says 3 to 5 weeks, county to the west says 2 weeks max, county I live in says 4 to 6 months! Go figure.

Otsego County, NY. After all my papers were in, 11 days.

Did I mention that its New York? :what:

Arcli9ht: How the *bloop* did you manage that??? I live in WNY and have yet to hear of less than 90 days. Can I borrow your calendar? Maybe it's different than mine... :D

Hello everyone. I'm from New York N.Y. I submitted my application for a Utah non-resident CCW on 03/10/07 via USPS Priority mail. I received a letter on 07/30/07 dated 07/26/07 stating that it would serve as a provisional permit until the physical card was ready.

On August 13, 2007 I received my actual Utah CCW. 4 months, 2 weeks & 5 days.
