Local Wallyworld up here was having a big discount on their Blazer Brass. With tax I got their last four boxes of .45 ACP 230gr FMJ for $13.91 each. That's at least a buck discount over their regular price and two bucks less than what they wanted for anything else other than WWB 100 packs. Everyone else in town is $5 more per 50.

Employee seemed to think it was company wide and it sorta looked to me like they were clearing off the shelves of the stuff and focusing on Winchester and Remington ammo. Their prices on .40 and 9mm were a couple bucks cheaper than I remember seeing it before.

Dunno if it's this way in your area but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Same price at my local Walmart but when they run out they get more in.

I kicked myself earlier for not checking out the 9mm price. My buddy shoots that and I didn't even register it in my head for him. My dad shoots .40 and it was $12.9something for those which is several dollars less than he's been paying. It was definitely a sale and a discounted price. The question still remains are they clearing it out for the bigger names or is it just a marketing gimmick?

Tons of Winchester and Remington boxes but not much of anything else...but my local Wallyworld pretty much sucks anyways. Best prices on ammo and oil locally though.

That's just regular price. Blazer Brass at Walmart is generally the cheapest.

At other stores, not so much.

COMPNOR, maybe in your neck of the woods but up here their current sale price is over a buck a box less than their normal price for it.

Just spreading the word. If it isn't on sale in your area all you're out is some time.

Thanks!

Hey, nice of you to post an "alert." I'm sure that ever since the price of ammo started skyrocketing, there must be a big number of us who'd always appreciate a "heads up" on a deal. We're all in this together.

.40 caliber Blazer Brass is all I have been using for target practice. About 12.50 a box at Wal Mart. Only bad thing about it is until January of '08 it was around 10.00 a box.

*shrugs*

Blazer Brass at Walmart is cheap regardless. So if yours is having a sale, all its doing is just matching my prices.

And here, there's plenty Blazer in stock. For awhile, they were having trouble keeping it in stock.

I bought 5 boxes of Blazer Brass yesterday and it was marked 14.97...it rang up as 13.97. The cashier commented, "They must have put on sale and didn't tell me". I was going to post about it last night, but had to rush out for a wedding reception.

9mm b.b. is $8.57 per fifty here in CT. I'm going to grab a few boxes this weekend when I get my check.

Yup its the cheapest brass ammo I have seen around here, including at the shows. The only thing that sucks is the casings are always dirty and get your hands gummy just loading up your mags before you even start shooting. Reliable ammo though and good enough for plinking/target shooting.

Some have also claimed there is a little "set back" where the bullet may be a bit further down in the casing during production.

i've fired THOUSANDS of this stuff in 9mm and .45 acp. my hands/fingers are still intact as well as my guns are still in one piece.:D

The price was "Rolled Back", not really on sale. $13.97 ia now the new regular price.

Never had that problem.

It wasn't that long ago that the .45 Blazer Brass was $9.68 a box. Then it went up to $13.68. There's one WalMart in the area where it's $11.50. Don't ask me why. I don't shoot my .45 much (due to cost) but I did buy 4 boxes a few weeks ago.

The only problem I have with getting my ammo at Walmart is that the ammo is all hidden behind the counter, so I can't see what they have in stock much less the price. I think I need to try a different Walmart. The stuff I have bought there is definitely the best price I find anywhere.

Considering everywhere else I go Blazer Brass is $11+ it sure does save me money.

I've got no problem using my friendly neighboorhood gun store if price is slightly higher and they're closer.

But they're not on both accounts.

One of the Walmarts I go to has the ammo "behind the counter", but you can actually go back there. Another actually has their ammo out in the open. Its great for those midnight runs.

Was told here in town a few days ago, that once the shelves are run dry and restocked they are going raise their prices...cant guarantee the source that told me this is 'true' but this is the first time any Walmarts here had rollback prices on ammo period.

Comp Nor,

Its not all of them, but it seems some of the boxes I get the cartridges have like a black soot film on them. It doesn't smell like powder, so it might just be dirty from some belt on the line or something. I don't know how to explain it. I will try and take a picture of it and maybe you guys will know what it is.

Damian

M203, thanks for your opinion.

Saves me plenty of cash as everyone else in town wants at least $19 for a box of .45. Even the local guys with the hole in the wall shop. They were charging $14 for a box of .45 about 3 years ago...
