Walther P99 - Best handgun Sie Germans ever made.

One of a very few handguns with ALL the controls placed conveniently and as unobtrusively as possible.

Nothing under $1200 can touch it for accuracy.

I'm just under the 25,000 round count, and not one malfunction of any kind with 8 different mags. I've seen exactly ONE cracked frame and it looked 100% intentional (like the gun was cracked in a vice, definately not a KB).

Unbeatable combination of size, weight, capacity, accuracy, and style (it's a sexy beast aint it?) for the money.

I recently bought a Walther P99cA/S, and absolutely love it. No glitches, fantastic accuracy, and the A/S trigger can't be beat. Another plus is that it is relatively light weight so is readily concealable.

ok i am sold afer a few months of research and a few choices i narrowed it down to this one thanks all.

P99 is a great gun... but a question.

I have the original style p99 with the prop. rail system. I have heard mention of an adapter that adapts to the picat. rails. Does anyone know if this adapter exists? Where do I get one and how much does it cost?

Thanks in advance.

IWB holster for a P99 40S&W

Todesergel,

I suggest you look at theMaxCon V holster fron brommelandgunleather.com Gary Brommeland does make this for the newer frame P99. I know because I have the old frame and he couldn't help me. Go to his site and drool.

If you are looking for a Kydex IWB, I suggest you look the Blade-Tech UCH holster. I have this one and like it very much...Bill

Correct as far as it goes..

1st round DA, UNLESS you retract the slide slightly.. If you do that you will re-cock the pistol for a single action shot, but with the longer travel "Anti-stress" trigger...

In the Anti-stress mode you start pulling the trigger from the same position as you would in a normal da shot, but at some point (roughly halfway), you will transition back to a 4.4lb SA trigger pull... My understanding is that the object of the "AS" or anti-stress trigger is to reduce the chances for ad/nd's..

When you transition to the SA part of the AS trigger pull* you will feel a "click" sorta like a two-stage trigger pull on another firearm. It's kinda weird in description, but excellent in practice.

I like the option because my preference is to always keep my firearms de-cocked, allowing for safer carry, and a first round heavier trigger pull as the penalty. With the Walther P99/AS you can do just that, but if you have the time and inclination you can retract the slide slightly and you are back to a longer, but still 4.4lb trigger pull. Of course when you re-cock the trigger your "red cocked indicator" will be visible.

For my tastes the trigger action of my two P99's are so sweet that I don't have any problem carrying uncocked with a 8.8lb first rd trigger pull.. Of course if I had time I would transition to AS mode if time and circumstances allow.

IMO the Walther P99/AS trigger/striker is better than any trigger or striker type pistol I've ever owned, or shot. Accuracy, the same.... Getcha' one!

The picture above shows my FIST Kydex holster.. Extremely thin, molded perfectly. You can hold the holster upside down and the pistol will not fall out. When you holster the pistol it locks in with a nice "click"..

The clip is well designed, and the bottom actually locks under the bottom of your belt so when you pull the firearm, the holster stays home...

$34.95+ shipping.

The folks at FIST were very nice to deal with, and I hope to buy more holsters from them in the future.

Best Wishes,

WOW!

I used to own the original P99...

But I handled the newer style at my local shop...

Damn they changed it so much...I could not buy it...

The mag release sucks...

so to does the new style decock....

Sorry you lost me on this one...

I would buy the old style in a heart beat...

but the new one you can keep...

BTW...

S&W has discontinued their SW99 line...

so to does the new style decock....
The quick action (QA) P99 has a veyr small decocker because the decocker is to be used for takedown purposes only. The P99 AS (the TDA P99) has just as big of a decocker as ever. They increased the length of the magazine release also which I personally like, but to each his own.

Do the lager magazines of the standard P99 fit in the P99c?
They do, however if you slam it in the mag will touch the ejector so you might want to be cautious. Walther has some magazine adapters to extend the grip trickling onto the market.

My buddy has a QPQ P-99... We get together and his scores are almost identical to me Shooting with a Python. DAMN ACCURATE PISTOL!!!!!

I load .40 S&W for him and that stuff is "Brisk" to say the very least... I also load 9mm and I cant get near the energy levels of a .40 S&W.

There IS a difference in Recoil with my loads and the P-99 doesn't mind at all.

I have a P99 AS and it is a fantastic pistol. I was never a fan of plastic pistols before but the excellent ergonomics of the Walther won me over quickly. It is surprisingly accurate, much more so than I was expecting. Never a jam or problem with the gun. And I'm a 1911 guy!

friend of mine has P99 Fast Action. Vey accurate. although I do not care for the trigger, the gun feels great in my hand. Once he got used to the gun, he never missed the target.

Which action do ya'll like best, the QA or AS? Also, I checked the Walther America site and they don't list the DAO action as an option, but I swear I saw it in one of their catalogs just yesterday. Just curious as I'm feeling the P99 bug again, after all I don't have a Walther yet...

The "AS" might be a bit more difficult to find, but IMO it is fantastic....

I have two, want more...

Actually my last statement wasn't totally correct. I temporarily forgot that I own a P1, which is actually a very nice pistol. But I don't have any recent Walthers...

i love my P99.... i have one in 9mm

bought it thru Earls.......... so its german made, no S&W stamps on it...

I love my P99 AS in 9mm. So far, the best money ever spent on buying a firearm. Thanks to Shipwreck. :)

Flopsy:

Why would you want an external safety on a pistol with a first round DA trigger/striker pull of almost 9lbs?

Just carry your pistol uncocked in DA mode, keep your trigger finger off the trigger until you actually want to shoot something and you have the same basic safety as the zillion revolver carriers....

I sold my Glock 26 because I was uncomfortable with the ever-light trigger.. The Walther P99's offer a nice relatively heavy first round trigger pull, and I have absolutely no concerns about the safety of that mode of carry.

IMO an external safety is just something else to worry about when the poop hits the fan. I don't want to worry about anything other than draw the firearm, point the firearm at center mass of the threat, and pull the trigger.

Just my old fart opinion...

J. Pomeroy

My boss is an oldschooler, and a cowboy action shooter. Blued and wood, or stainless and wood. Pair of 1911's, multiple upon multiple wheelguns.

The P99 is the only danged newfangled plastic gun that man will lay his hands on. No Glocks, no Sigs, not even my PX4. But he loves that P99.

I think there's a reason for that.
