I think Century must be using the Tapco G2 parts now. My new WASR is fresh from the box with a G2 set of parts!

I was sort of surprised that the trigger pull is so nice on this AK clone. Last one of these I shot was a buddies new SAR-1 Romanian, and frankly, it's trigger sucked!

I checked for the canted sight deal on mine, just ain't so on this rifle. The only real flaws I see on my new AK clone is the receiver topcover looks like it was blued over some minor rust(or possibly got a sloppy blue job to begin with?). Just minor spots that are blue, but visable too, not that bad. Has a couple scratches in the receiver and receiver topcover, such as might happen with a 30 shot box floating loose in the box. Got shafted on the cleaning kit!! This bugs me the worst, got the kit in a tube, has a punch and bore brush but no jag or screwdriver/sight tool!

I'll try shoot this thing today, and report back if it's worth a crap or not.

Oh! About the G2 trigger thing. I ain't no AK expert, but my rifle's trigger says "Tapco USA G2" on the left side visable without dissassembly. Since the hammer looks like it matchs the trigger, I'm assuming this is a G2 trigger part set stuck in the gun by Century for ATF compliance BS.

I've got a WASR-10, they're well worth the 300 bucks. I've never had a problem hitting what i was aiming at. The one upgrade i would recommend is a different muzzle brake, the slant brake give the rifle a odd, circular recoil, an A2 style brake cuts recoil and stops that funky circular recoil thing.

Oh, and look at the trigger before you buy, try to get one with a Tapco trigger. Tapco triggers dont have the trigger slap that the regular ones do, some WASR-10s have them, some dont. The trigger will say Tapco on it

Describe the canted sights, as in how will i know if they're bad? The loose mag is self explanatory. and also, how can i look at the trigger assembly and see if its the G2 that you speak of?

canted front sight or gas block is when the front sight or gas block leans to one side or the other. some times canted front sights affects accuracy, some times it does not. though iv heard canted gas block more than often affects reliability.

look on the left side of the trigger, up near the reciever, its should read "Tapco G2 USA" if it does, your fine. if it doesnt, not a huge deal. just requires you either work on the current group, or buy a G2 set ( or any of the other AK FGC out there) to make it a pleasant shooter

hksw

spend the 30-40$ on a tapco G2 set. they are highly recomended

Too late, already ground off the rear disconnect extension and extended the angled portion of the bottom all the way to the rear on a sander. Works well now.

Just tried my WASR 10 rifle. Not a very scientific test, but just a wham bam plinking session.

You might ask, does it work? Yes, it seemed to work just fine. I fired 120 shots of mid 1990's PMC 122gr non corrosive ball ammo(each mag got loaded and emptied twice) without a hitch. Burned up an uncounted quanity of Chinese steel cased corrosive ball ammo too. maybe 50 shots of that junk.

Was it accurate? Hmmm....Don't know, didn't really shoot for bench accuracy. Did seem to be decently accurate at 20-50yd plinking. Could hit a soda can every shot at about 40yds. Front sight needs to be adjusted maybe just a tiny bit, but otherwise seems to be fairly well regulated.

Any trigger slap? No, not that I've ever experienced trigger slap to know what it is. Trigger is surprisingly decent! The Century installed Tapco G2 parts delivered a trigger pull as good as any commercial rifle I own. Just an estimate, but maybe a 4-5 pound smooth clean trigger pull.

Any complaints? Well, no, not really. The thing does get amazingly hot after 40-50 shots. Immediatly reloading the mags and burning them empty again made smoke come from the grease on the barrel under the forearm! The gun was freeking hot when I was done! I jammed the bolt open with an empty case and let it cool off some before putting it back in the truck to come home.

I would say that I'm pretty pleased with the Romanian AK's performance. Especialy for just a 45 minute informal shoot.

I have company coming over this evening, or I would have tried the rifle for some 50yd accuracy.

My local dunhams has a black friday sale on the rifles for 289. me and a friend are planning on showing up bright and early at 5am to each get one.

ill be posting a picture at oh about 7am :)

My son and I burned some more ammo through my new WASR 10 AKM clone this afternoon.

The rifle ran flawlesly except for one chambering problem. After inserting a fresh magazine of ammo, tried to chamber a round and the cartridge hung up. Pushed the bullet back in the case some, so dumped that cartridge out and chambered the next one. No further problems, and the "first round chambering problem" did not repeat itself. Maybe the new rifle needing broken in. Does have some fairly sharp edges the bullet has to navigate to get to the chamber. May have been the ammo, because I know this stuff I'm using ain't the best ammo around. I don't believe it to be a major malfunction, or gun glitch.

I have my shooting bench at my house for repair(wood got rotton!), so still no bench fired accuracy test. I do, however, think the rifle is shooting great accuracy-wise. The rear sight notch is too skinny, at least for me. I think the sight picture would be greatly improved with a slight filing job to open the rear sight up just a little bit.

Srigs
Let us know how many they have because I may have to swing by the Duluth one.

I stopped in to check them out last week, just to see for myself that they're what i was looking for, and to see how many they had as well. they had about 7 wasr-10's and a whole case next to it of the single stack's.

5am to 2pm, and then the price goes up to 300 (from 289)

sights are perfectly straight, tapco g2 trigger, and the mags fit oh so snug :)
