So I roll crimp all my rounds, especially slugs. I don't use commercial plastic overshot cards because they are so frangible. They are made to be, I know, but if I drop a shell the OS Card often breaks leaving the round ruined.
That leaves me with cardboard OS cards. They work great, but are susceptible to water. Not great for hunting trips if it rains.
So, any thoughts on waterproofing cardboard OS cards that wouldn't effect the round? Maybe spraying Thompsons on it, or some other sealant? Maybe paraffin wax? What do yall think?

Not sayin this will work for your application?

They make waterproof heavy paper,I know cause that's what I use for target paper. It's heavy stock, maybe a tick heavier than manilla file holder. Am sure there's an industry # on thickness.

Can get you the dope off the box end. My D.I.L. used to work at a print shop and gave me a cpl boxes 18X24". It isn't cheap but how much do you need?

I SWEAR, it will withstand a garden hose spraying on it. It gets hung here,on the range behind the shop, and left out in ALL weather.

Good luck with your project.

There is a thin plastic disk (I think it's mylar) used to hold shot in before star crimping a round. Use nitro wad then the mylar and roll crimp. Nitro cards are fairly rugged but not totally waterproof though. Those disks were available at Balistic Products.

I load brass hulls for 20ga hunting. I use plastic circle punched from milk or juice jugs then after installed, instead of crimping, i use a ring of hot glue, and a little clear nail polish on the primer. The end product is very much waterproof! Different colored nail polish swiped from the DW indicates different shot. Some use disks of waxed cardboard.

Couple drops of white glue spread around on the finished shell would do just fine. It will dry clear and be water tight. I do it with my 38 carpenter bee loads and so far it works. Or most any frozen food boxes are waxed on the outside so just use the waxed side out and for extra piece of mind seal with white glue.
