We are behind on this campus carry poll. Help us out.

After answering, the poll results it showed me were 33% for, 61% against, and 6% didn't care. We seriously need to show support for this bill. Thanks for the heads up on the link.

I voted, but I am of the opinion that you may have chosen the wrong station for this kind of poll. I'm not that impressed with the KHQ crew. I'm sure they got all their station people to vote right off the bat. I see percentages, I don't see count? (No, I don't trust KHQ, don't watch their news either)

I would think (maybe I am wrong) but IMHO KXLY would have been a better station. anyway, go to some other forums and drum up some votes...OK?

Keep it goin'. This is just a news poll, but a lot of skulls full of mush out there are heavily influenced by this sort of thing. We need to tip this in our favor. You can be sure the anti-gun folks are mobilizing everything they have against campus carry. The least we can do is vote in a news poll.

NCAA won't allow events at open carry schools? Is this true?

I didn't see the poll, but I did see the specter of NCAA not allowing sporting events to be held if they allow carry, from non-named sources.

"We need to continue to be given the flexibility and the authority to create the kind of safe environment," said Marty Peterson, University of Idaho.
If the bill passes anyone can carry a gun anywhere on campus with the exception of undergraduate housing. This includes sporting events and other activities. Universities in Idaho say aside from safety concerns money could also be lost. If students are allowed to openly carry guns on campus the NCAA could potentially not allow them to host tournaments and entertainers might not perform concerts. Potentially losing revenue from ticket sales.--article (I don't think the second paragraph was directly sourcing Peterson, was it?)

Also, did anyone notice that the article was above the "man with a gun" article?

Can you find what the final outcome was? There was no mention on the news, and there is no mention even in the archives when you search. I suspect we got enough votes that they just want it to go away becasue it did not support their position.

The regents and administration of any state university think they are gods and do not want to be restricted by meer mortals like a state legislature...that is the real problem.

Or did you notice in that article "more than just saftey"...remember now, this is god speaking, D#$% the Law it doesn't apply to god....

"We know what is best for our students..." Pres of UI

I specifically watched the KHQ 11 PM new looking for reference to it, not a word. It being KHQ, I am not surprised if the vote was stacked against carry. I don't usually watch them because I have felt the bias in the crew before, just by the way they word things.

I normally watch KXLY, it would be interesting to see if there would be any difference if KXLY ran the same poll.
