What’s with Beretta ?

Sure departments have switched from Beretta to other brands - and the opposite is true. Not all departments stayed with Glock either. How many different issue guns has the FBI used in the last 30 years?
But the big agencies, especially ones like the Border Patrol which has a fair amount of combat, choose based on some practical criteria too.

Berreta is turning into trash. I purchased a Brigadier Elite (NIB in 2001 from a local gun store) and its factory sights were so far off it cannot be sighted in, quality is shakey, Bluing was peeling after the first box-break-in range session, and the Berreta Rep that I took it to did not know what to tell me (nor did he really care) as it only had 50 rounds though it and it was only 9 days old???? Tell you what. I carried the M9 in combat all last year in N Baghdad and when we would go out on patrol I left it on my bunk as it wasnt worth carrying around the weight. Yep its harsh to say about the manufacturer but true. They have lost their edge. Hopefully their shotguns are still good because Kel-Tec, Glock, and Sig are quality companys that Berreta has lost ground to and will continue until they fix their quality control.
And thats my rant for the evening! Good Luck w/ your Berreta model searching :D
