what 380 is good?

I have a Sig P232. It is my best gun.

It's all metal.
It's got wood Nills grips that fit my hand like a glove.
The barrel is slightly longer than other 380's, giving most round a good bit more velocity.
It is the most accurate gun I have. The straight blowback design is the reason I suspect.


I keep it in a Galco shoulder holster and I forget it's even there.

Another vote for SIG P232 - superb little pistol. Not as small as the ultralight .380s, but much more "shootable" and IMO, a great size for carry. Available in either an all stainless (which I have) or a lighter stainless slide/alloy frame.

Got a Bersa 380--Ruger LCP--and am lusting for a Sig P238 Nitron with Rosewood Grips. LCP is my favorite today--Maybe the P238 tomorrow.

I also don't believe that test was correct All those pistols just happened to have trouble at same time. To many people report never a problem of these brands I have 4 keltecs 3 are couple years old and have never failed 4 th is new but has 50 trouble free rounds down range and wasn't even cleaned just oiled before shooting
I think test should be done over with different shooter.

Yet another here in favor of the Bersa.. carrying one now. What it gives up in concealability, it makes up in pointability and grip. It's longer barrel also enhances both sight radius and bullet velocity.
Of course, there are some comparable guns in both 9x18 Makarov and 9x19 (Parabellum) as well (such as the CZ models). Both are more powerful rounds, and the latter is cheaper and more plentiful than the 380. I carry my Bersa because I don't own any guns in either of those calibers, but I feel just fine with it.

Everybody talking about .380 when shops haven't seen .380 ammunition to sell you for about a year, At least where I am. I was doing .380 carry years ago. With an FEG Hungarian knockoff of a Walther PPK, I honestly doubt any suggestions here would have served me any better.

I sold it to a friend with the caveat that if he chooses to sell it I get first dibs. I sold it to him at a bargain price because he needed it. If I get it back I know my .380 needs are well met.

Mauser Hsc. Excellent design and reliable. Neither of mine have ever failed to work, and an Interarms import can be found for about $300. In my opinion, it is one of the most underrated carry guns out there.

Beretta 84

I would go with the BERETTA 84 unless it is too large for your needs.

It is very, very reliable with a nice trigger and its large size for a .380 means that you have a grip you can hold onto, a 13 round magazine, good sights and a choice of "COCKED AND LOCKED" or traditional double action/single action carry.

If the grip is too large, you might try the model 85 with a single collum magazine.

I have a Sig P232. It is my best gun.

The Sig is the Caddy of the .380's. My Sig. 230 is accurate enough to hit a pop can at 25 yards about ever shot. The Kel Tech & Ruger & others my be easier to conceal but I don't think there are many that will match the Sig for accuracy.

Beretta 84 and Mauser HsC. The Beretta is the cream of the .380 crop, and the Mauser is not far behind. I carry both, and have for decades.

I often carry a Beretta M85FS (single stack version of the 84). Its a little slimmer. Great choice.

Ammo availability seems to vary tremendously around the country though. For myself, I have little trouble finding it in the last 5-6 months. There seems to be a fair bit of WWB, Remington, and I picked up 100rnds of golden sabers a few weeks back and they had a full shelf of it. Another local store had stacks of Gold Dots a couple of weeks ago. All had enough .380 FMJ that they were no longer restricting purchasers to just two boxes, which they had been doing through the first half of last year.
