What .380 pistol would you like to see made in 9mm?

Isn't the PT917C a 9mm version of the PT58HC? Not sure if it's avaliable in the USA, though.
But then, there must be countless of similar 9mm pistols in avaliable up there...

Makarov :D . But that would take a complete redesign to make it usable (fixed barrel blowback to locked breach (or something else?)).

The PT917C looks like it's more the size of a PT92, at a 41/2" barrel and 17 rounds. The PT58 is a good bit smaller, a clone of the Beretta 84. Not much larger than a PPK

Wasn't there an attempt at a 9x19 Makarov, using a grooved chamber to achieve a sort of delayed blowback effect?

Yup. And from what I read, it was pretty fierce to shoot. Never imported. Details on Makarov.com, I think.

Colt goverment 380.

I still can't understand why no one has done it yet.

1911'ers are fanatics ;) , spend more money than most on a single pistol and buy more than one. And it's a growing market. What else is needed?

I agree. Why can't someone effectively scale down a 1911 in 9mm. There is the STI LS9, but it's not quite right for some reason. http://www.stiguns.com/guns/ls/ls.html

40,000 psi for one.
effective enough recoil retardation for another.
slide weight
There are probably too many to make it feasible at reasonable $$

Buy a Rohrbaugh.:)

But that's the point. If Rohrbaugh and Kahr can do it, why can't someone do it with a 1911?

Kel-tec P3AT. Remember the marginal size-increase when they moved up from .32 to .380? I'd do somersaults to see a similar move in the 9mm. Looks like the PF-9 is a couple steps bigger than that.

bersa thunder .380. to a 9mm. By that I mean a singlestack bersa 9mm not that fat doublestack version of the thunder.
