Winchester WWB Personal Defense 125 gr sjhp .38 spl +p or Remington UMC Value Pack 125 gr sjhp +p

By choice, 158 gr LSWCHP +P, Corbon DPX, or Gold Dot 135.

By department policy in my BUG, a no name 125 gr +P sjhp loaded sometime in the early 90s before we transitioned to autos. Man I hope we finish shooting up that stockpile soon and get some new ammo.

Just Arrived...

.....a test box of the Buffalo Bore standard pressure .38 spl SWCHP. Won't be able ti try it out tile Thursday at the earliest.

But given that it replicates the traditional Remington FBI load (lots of soft lead exposed with a hollow point you could get lost in) it looks promising

Over the past couple of years I've shot and carried a variety of different loads in my 442.

I've finally "settled" on the Gold Dot 135 Grain JHP. This was after trying CorBon 110 Grain +P's, CorBon 125 Grain +P's and Remington 125 Grain +P's. The Gold Dots are the easiest to get and don't cost an "arm and a leg".

The Gold Dots work and shoot almost to POA at 25 Yards.

interesting chuckhawks article . comlpetely dismissed the 158 .357mags. i find them easier to shoot than the 125. and 125 have way big blast. also disses the 10mm *** ? also completely dismisses any single action revolver, while i wouldnt reccommend it its better than nothing! also federal hydrashock is sooo 1990's has been surpassed by superior technology

I keep Ranger 45T in my 1911s

currently in my 442 is speer short barrell .38 although next time i see a quanity for testing i may try the winchester sxt .38
