What Are You Thankful For?

I'm deeply grateful to the good folks who operate this site and the larger number of folks who participate in it. It's a wonderful place and a wonderful group of people.

Thank you, one and all!

In no particular order:

1) Life, health, family, and the most wonderful wife on the planet.

2) A bunch of old, dead, white guys who "got it" and set up the best form of government ever seen on the planet, before or since. Being "white guys" didn't make them special... what they did made them special. I only mention the "white" part because it gets such a bad rap these days by many who would rewrite history per some political agenda.

3) The good Lord who made both me and the wonderful woman mentioned in (1) above and saw fit that we would both be born in the nation created by (2) above and that we would eventually find one another. This combination is my greatest blessing.

4) Wonderful parents who gave me a great start on life and some good genes in the process.

5) the blessing in (4) above landed me in a decent enough job (with not as much effort on my part as I should probably have put forth) to afford a comfortable life, including the ability to exercise a fundamental right expounded upon by (2) above, as granted by (3) above and supported by the woman mentioned in (1) above.

6) Oh, and you guys.

1) My life. I was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and with surgery, chemo and raditation was told that I have beaten it so far but the next 5 years will tell the story.

2) My family

3) The greatest nation on earth.

4) As others have said a decent paying job, a wife and children that love me, a decent home and food on the table when I want it.

5) The ability and freedom to do pretty much what I want when I want within reason of course.

The ones I'm thankful for, and to whom I owe thanks...

My mother - for giving birth to me
Her Fiancee - finally, the man my mother deserves
My sister - for keeping that dresser from falling on me when I was an infant
My brother - for going over there and whoopin' saddam's butt... and the half a dozen or so times he's saved my life (I seem to need that frequently)
My friends - for being there when I need them, and for throwing me an awesome 21st birthday party
My cats - they make me live longer and keep me warm at night
Lt. Col. Stone - for teaching me what life really is, and why you shouldn't try to light your pipe with a cigarette lighter
That girl I've almost got convinced to marry me - because she's cute, smells nice, and she's everything I could possibly hope for and then some
HIM - thanks for making me and those I love, and thanks for keeping an eye on Doc while he's over there

...and who could forget you folks. For all the good advice, entertainment, laughs, and even for the occasional irritation and annoyance, I am thankful.

I want to thank God for the new Dell I just got (yeah, yeah, I know, Dude! you got a Dell ). I got tired of trying to breathe new life into a 5 yr old computer that had some "issues". It has been awhile since you guys have heard from me, and that is why.
