There's no need to say "Ammo & mags" because we all know the importance of that. Instead what guns are you ordering?

Mine will be a 1919a4 (ordered it today) and MAYBE a Kel-tec KSG

PS: These will be Christmas gifts for myself more than panic guns because I dont usually feed into stuff like that.

But yea, What are you getting?? I need more ideas because I'm not 100% set on the KSG yet

I'm set on guns...but I might buy a few Glocks to give to the kids when they get older.

As it is my 12 year old has been asking for my guns as birthday presents for himself. He told his younger sister that the master plan was to eventually own all of my guns by getting them one at a time as birthday and Christmas gifts. I admire his planning but he should have know better than to tell his little sister...that kid can't keep a secret.

Nice..The 1919A will be my 14th but I'm getting it because I dont have a beltfed

Wow Braxton, that's quite a gift!

The Saturday before the CT killings, my wife had a run in with a really creepy guy while taking the kids to swimming and gymnastics lessons. He appeared not to be with any of the kids attending and set off red flags in all the mothers' minds. The guy quickly left, most likely because of the glares and my wife reporting his suspiciousness to the desk attendant. When she came home she said she's finally going to get a gun. This Friday we'll get a chance for her to hold some that she can easily conceal, hopefully the place has enough to try out. If so, I'll be calling an FFL friend and ordering one.

My wife has always been pro gun and knew that someday she'd join in on the CC thing. However this event, plus two kids from our hometown had been kidnapped this summer and their bodies were just found, all that really put her into being ready to protect our children when I'm not there.

I don't panic buy, just buy when the right deal comes across. Panic and your just burning money. Then again I still have toys and parts I haven't touched since before the AWB existed. That was over 18 years ago, I think I'm set.

I got 200 rounds of new production, non-corrosive 7.62x54R for $83 with shipping from aimsurplus. The stuff was $6.49 for a box of 20. I'd never seen non-corrosive 7.62x54R so cheap before anywhere.

I plan on using the ammo in my military rifle with it's bayonet that's statistically more likely to kill someone than the rifle it's mounted to (http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/uc.../crime-in-the-u.s.-2010/tables/10shrtbl08.xls). Mosins make a pretty good club too, so according to the FBI it's really deadly. The Brady Campaign will probably come after it as soon as they're not distracted by those small caliber plastic things, figured I'd better get the ammo now. Need to find some stripper clips too before they go after those.

I almost sprang for a M44 carbine while I was there but decided I really shouldn't be spending another $215 right now.

I work at a gun store and today was absolutely crazy, we did $23,000 in sales and about $35,000 between Friday and Monday!

We sold about ten AR-15's and a whole lot of high-cap mags today. We literally can't get anymore black rifles, all of our distributors are completely sold out of just about everything from semi-auto rifles to semi-auto handguns.

We ended up getting five brand new Sig 516's in today that we had ordered a while back and all of them sold withing a few hours of getting them lined in and on the rack, a couple didn't even make it to the rack!

When I got into work I took a PTR-91 off the rack and set it in the back to buy and I also snagged an FNX-45. Fortunately I'm set on AR's so I didn't feel the need to buy another one.

Mine will be a 1919a4 (ordered it today)

Well, congrats. I hope you enjoy yours more than I did mine. The idea of having a belt fed seems cool, but the reality is that it is a heavy, unweildy weapon with very limited utility. Different story if it's a machine gun, but I sold my semi-auto after about a year.

My "AWB panic guns"? Yeah.......way ahead of the curve. I don't need to rush out and wade through the mobs to buy anything at these bloated prices.

If you like M-1 Garands, the CMP might not receive any more. My SKS was bought in April '08. Only a second Garand (also from the CMP) is the latest semi-auto objective.

The point? You buy what you want/need/can afford before any panic ignites.
If people had the money before the recent (or previous) pres. election, being aware that any future mass tragedy would invite a media anti-gun limelight firestorm, thereby accelerating demand for certain sport utility rifles and magazines, then tell me, why did they wait until Now to buy them?

We all knew, or should have anticipated that any massacre involving children would lead to this situation. How could it Not lead to this?

Just sold one of my guns so I'm looking for a replacement. Really want a Draco AK pistol, UZI, AR, another AK, or.... the list goes on. We'll see what the store has since I don't think I'll be finding too many FTF anytime soon.

I just got an M1A, a POF 308 lower assembly, two AR stripped lowers, a Glock 35, and an FNH SLP Mk1, along with mags. I started on Thursday, thank goodness, but was able to find a bunch of stuff on Monday and Tuesday. That should be enough for the rest of my life but in reality I'll probably sell them after an AWB is enacted - buy low sell high.

The threat of an AWB has created the practical equivalent of an AWB.

Anybody know why the ammo is getting bought up? I haven't heard about potential ammo restrictions - but wouldn't be a bit surprised.

The only one left on my list is a "tommy gun", so maybe that.

Although that's mostly for my girlfriend, since she's the one who wants to shoot it... I'm a lucky man.

I am seriously thinking of going the other direction.

I've got an AR and a bunch of mags. My life situation is such that I don't get to shoot it much. I bought it on the day of the Super Bowl and I've gotten to shoot it once. I don't compete, etc., etc., etc.

I am giving some thought to selling it with all the trimmings for a very good price (without any profiteering I will add) and use the funds to buy ammo for my more convenient HD guns (CCWs), have a contingency fund to buy new mags for them should that crap come to pass, and probably buy something that a) is pretty close to unbannable in my lifetime and b) which I have always wanted anyway like a Winchester 94, a Winchester 88, or a Savage 99 (or any almost infinite number of bolt action rifles).

No panic. It's my tactic...maybe. It is just a thing...a thing I don't get to use much and a thing should the worst happen, I'll have to spend money on for 10 round mags or sell back to the gov at a loss.

I am not suggesting that anybody follow my lead here...this is about me and the fellow (a friend and shooting buddy) that might pick up a nice AR with all the trimming without the wait, the fuss, the lines, the 5-hour NICS check. I'll drop back, and if it all blow over, I'll get back in the game when the whole thing collapses.

Flame me if you will just remember, I'd be selling it (if I even do) to one of y'all anyway.

Who knows what I'll do.

So my "panic gun"? Maybe a Winchester 88 or a Savage 99 in 250-3000 or 300 Savage...droooool. Bolt action? Probably something in 30-06 justs to keep it simple or maybe 7mm-08 or 243 or something like that.

I'm good where I'm at so no panic here. I only have one rifle that could possibly considered a assult weapon and that's my Mini 14 ranch rifle. I'm sure that would be grandfathered in so I don't think that would be a problem if I'm reading and understanding things right.

Not going to panic buy. I have a 1911 and and old 5 screw pre-model 10 in layaway. I bought my goodies in advance of the current demagog in the white house.

My brother called and wants an AR platform, my advice to him, be prepared to pay. In the past he showed little to no interest in rifles, now he wants an AR and he tight as bark on a tree. He is coming in for Christmas and wants me to go with him to look for AR's. I suspect he is going to scream like Scrooge when he see's what he is going to have to pay for being late to the party.

I picked up an LRB lower. I have a Plum Crazy complete lower (polymer) with a Spike's upper on it, and before legislation starts flying, I want a "traditional" lower in reserve in case that polymer one cracks/flakes out/doesn't work. I've been meaning to do this for some time. Now is the time as far as I'm concerned.

Ak...(and it is a beaut)

My good friend got an AR...(Bushy)

Going out shooting the end of December, while it is still "normal" to do so.

Who knows what is next. This is depressing.

Must keep heart.

I have to say that all my local gun stores are selling ARs like hotcakes, but are NOT jacking up the prices.

So, if you can find an AR or AK in stock, and the price hasn't been jacked up, then why not buy it?!?!
