Hey everyone

So I have a rifle project that I am working on getting completed basically I’m having a rem 721 re-barreled from 30-06 to 6.5-06 and since it will be a do everything rifle I want to use cerakote I’m fine with black as long as it’s not matte

so the question is what would you use to mimic a good gloss blue?

Polished barrel, TB resin, translucent black pigment, 10grains greyshine make-up pigment, coats to desired saturation, and don’t ding it. The polished barrel doesn’t hold the finish well, but looks fantastic through the color, like it’s a mile thick.
But that’s not Cerakote.

The gloss black Cerakote can be polished to be pretty close.

Does Cerakote have some type of clear base color?
All I ever see is flat colors. :(

Wow! I am much more interested in Cerakote now, after perusing their site!

They are a lot more than just camo colors!
They do have a clear coat. And gloss too. They have a huge selection of things I don’t normally get to see. I usually just associated it with firearms, but they make some pretty amazing, tough, finishes.

And, I know how to paint!

Yeah they have some seriously cool options. I've never used any of the clear coats or gloss besides black tho.
Actually only colors I used were gloss, and flat black, and FDE.

I wanna try some of the air cure, as I don't have a decent curing oven any more. But it will have to wait till I've sprayed all the Duracoat i have on hand.
