What do YOU carry, and exactly how often do you carry it?

Really what this question is about is the validity of mouseguns. They hold a certain value (size and weight) but is it worth it not to carry a full size handgun? I have only two options to carry, a five and a half pound stainless (beautiful) .45 1911, OR a smith and wesson 340 pd, which comes into the ring at only 15 oz fully loaded and has .38 or .357 ability.

I carry the 340 pd 95% of the time..... because to carry my 1911 gets uncomfortable....yet people seem to carry them all the time CONCEALED!

So it comes to my belief that you "big gun" carry fanatics dont carry your weapon all day everyday (like me even at home, flame on!). Am I wrong?:D

Again, what do you carry? how often? how do you carry it? and if you feel like sharing what type of clothing, job, hobbies etc that would affect your carrying ability.

HK P2000.

I don't "always" carry like some people do here. I don't carry while at work from 8-5pm. I also don't carry to and from the range. If I plan to go out and have a drink, I'll leave the gun home.

Other than that, I carry when I can.

Full size carry (winter, spring, summer, fall) Colt LW Commander in 45 w/1 xtra mag. Special carry, small gun, Astra A75 in 9mm.w/ 2 xtra mag

I'm struggling with this question too since I plan on getting a CCW once Nebraska's law kicks in Jan 1 2007.

I was considering a snubbie, but after looking at the ballistics numbers for .38 Special (and +p) and .357 magnum, I wasn't particularly sold on their effectiveness. I wouldn't be carrying an airweight weapon (full weight, please) since the controllability of 357 in such a frame seems difficult. The power of a 357 in a snubbie isn't remarkable, and 5 rounds doesn't seem like much to me. I'd feel a lot more secure with the extra rounds an auto has. I'm leaning towards a baby Glock, an XD subcompact, or a Taurus Mil-Pro. Probably in 9mm with +P rounds.

I'm a small guy (only 5'2") so a full-size weapon would be difficult to conceal.

My Main Carry Packages

Greeting's All-

Package A, consist of a 25 ounce, aluminum frame Kimber Stainless Ultra
Carry II in .45 ACP and a Seecamp LWS-32 in the front pocket using an
Uncle Mikes front pocket holster.

Package B, consist of a 15 ounce Smith & Wesson 642 stoked with 5
rounds of Nyclad ammo, and backed by the same Seecamp LWS-32.

Package C, is a 39 ounce Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special 1911 in of
course .45 ACP; backed by either the 5-shot Smith 642 .38 Special, or
the Seecamp LWS-32.

One of these packages is carried everyday, NO EXCEPTIONS~!:neener:

I carry a SIG P229 and a double reload pretty much every waking moment, year round. Used to carry a 1911, usually a Commander, for about 30 years before it. Sometimes also carry either a P230, P239, or a S&W 642 along with my 229.

I work outside, year round and dont really have any kind of dress code, so no problem there. Sweatshirts and windbreakers in the winter and untucked shirts over a tee shirt in the summer.

Large pistols are not hard to conceal and are comfortable if you use the right belt, holster combination. Once you do get used to them, you tend to only notice when they are not there.

I'm actually more self conscious with my Baby Browning in my front pocket than I am of my SIG in a IWB holster.

I have a SA Mil Spec 1911A1 that I carry every day. I am not allowed to carry at work, but when I am not at work it's on my hip, every day all day. Just like it is right now. For those times where my clothing will not allow the 1911, which is not very often, I carry a PPK/S or a Taurus Model 85

A Kahr K9 is my carry gun. I carry infrequently, as I spend most of my waking hours in state-mandated "gun free" zones.

Taurus PT745SS, various means of carrying and various locales depending on attire.

Still think it's too small to be a real .45 every time I pick it up, but there it is, and it works. :)

Backup at times, Jetfire .25 with ball. Yes, it's a .25, but I can be pretty sure it's never going to go :barf: on me if a backup IS ever needed...I figure it'd be at "they're about to jump on you and start beating on you" range, and I'm confident in how fast I can dump all nine rounds into a close target in little over a second.

.38 Stainless Chief"s Special two or three times a week, especially when taking walks at night or hanging around my father-in-law's giant estate out in the boonies.

95% of the time I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry II. The other 5% of the time I carry an AMT back up .380 in a pocket holster.

The Kimber I carry in a belt holster.

NAA .22 mag ALWAYS, even at the computer. Everywhere else I take Charter Arms and S&W 296, both are .44's. One is in my front pants pocket, the other in a fanny pack.

I only carry my BHP when I'm awake. :neener: Yes, I carry it all day, every day, and it's not at all a chore.

I carry a Kel-Tec P-3AT with ArmaLaser and two spare mags loaded with a mix of Santa Barbara FMJ and Speer Gold Dot JHP in a SmartCarry holster 24/7 (except while showering).

The "always" gun is a Kel-Tec P32 in an Alessi pocket holster. I have a variety of other guns that I carry frequently. Sometimes they replace the P32, but often they are carried in addition to it.

Sig229 unless I'm at work, and then it's secured in the vehicle. One of my friends was just over to my place and wanted to know why I was carrying inside my own home.... 'splained it to him good.
