I've been thinking about trying another Kel-Tec P32 (or similarly sized auto) with something like the Pager Holster. I have a situation that people would absolutely freak if they knew I was carrying (I no longer carry a badge) and so need a good, make that great, way to carry a small auto with NO printing. Right now I carry a Davis D32 but since it's probably the only weapon on site with 700+ people I think I'd like something with more shots. Any suggestions on gun and/or holster would be appreciated!

Also, for a good portion of my adult life I've not had to worry about whether or not my weapon showed (Thin Blue Line). That changed two years ago and I haven't been able to find a concealment holster/method that works worth spit for my larger carry guns (Star PD, Makarov) in warmer weather. Any suggestions? Start at basics and work up. I know several here carry 1911 mid and full size clones. How do you hide them? Is it a given that you MUST remove the weapon in IWB carry when sitting?

Thanks,
Mike

My p32 or P3at goes with me in a Rear pocket holster...Looks like a wallet when viewed from the rear...Never had any worries...

Before I make a reccomendation, I need to know how you dress for work. ie. tight blue jeans, loose fitting dockers, a suit and tie? Also, will you be seated a lot or walking around an office, warehouse, etc?

I carried a Kahr MK40 in an IWB holster and frankly unless you lifted my shirt or frisked me you would never know it was there.

Thanks for the replies so far!

I especially appreciate the feedback on the ultra-deep carry. Unfortunately, I believe wallet holsters are a no-no in Indiana because one too many officers got a nasty surprise. I will research it further though as I carried that way years ago (before the scuttlebutt about a ban on the holsters) and found it to be quite comfortable.

As to my attire, I usually wear blue jeans (black actually) not the tightest in the world but not LOOSE either. Say relaxed fit. I have the option of wearing something along the lines of Docker if I choose to. I usually wear cowboy boots but haven't had much luck in clipping a holster inside of one of the boots (too floppy/bulgey). The shirt they provide is a short sleeve oxford dress shirt that is required to be tucked in. Mainly I'll be walking with only occaisional sitting. Office enviroment.

Thanks,
Mike

Off Duty Weapons

With your situation needing your shirt tucked in makes it tough. I always had a loose shirt and my Smith 60 in an inside belt holster. As my department weapons instructor I had a question regarding a hideout weapon when in uniform and came up with the idea of a .380 in an armpit holster and snap buttons on the uniform front. I loaded some super hot JHP for a real shock effect.

In a situation with jeans and boots and my cowboy Ropers snap button shirts then see if you can find someone local to make you a harness.

Assuming you have a CCW there is your briefcase, locking desk drawer and seeing if you can change the mind of your supervisors for a close secure place secret from your co-workers.

In addition to my Uniform weapon I had a back pocket .357 Mag derringer .

I have also heard of weapons with a chain truckers type wallet built around them.

Now that I know how you dress I can answer. Subsitute 511 pants in the color black for your jeans. The "depth" of the two front pockets easily conceals a Kahr PM9 in an Uncle Mikes #3 pocket holster. No one will know you are packing short of a pat down. I wear these pants everyday at work, check them out. Hope this helps.:)

Thanks everyone! I'll start with Bob's advice and go with 511's and then start seeing what does and doesn't work for me! My wife should understand the need to experiment - she's a scientist!!! And if it just happens to result in my having more handguns than my local gunshop, well that's the price we pay for science. :D

Take care guys,
Mike

As I’ve said before I can carry my 3†Sp101 under my boxer type swimsuit in a Smartcarry holster and NOBODY knows I’m carrying. Under regular jeans there is no evidence at all either. Many times I wear it at 11o’clock right at the belt line with the butt out and just leave my shirttail out. It’s the best deep concealment holster ever IMHO.

Kahr MK9 in my right front pocket in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster. The all steel Kahr is a little heavy (22 oz) but that doesn't bother me at all. It's 100% reliable and I know it will go bang if needed.

For variety of carry look at good vests!

Coronado Leather http://coronadoleather.com/ makes leather "carry" vests that are of exceptional quality. I have one and can attest that the quality is excellent. True, the cost is sometime stiff. My vest it so good looking that I wear it to church (when I am carrying) and am often complimented for its appearance. Give the website a look. It is really an effective and stylish way to carry concealed. Good shooting;)

You carry in CHURCH! I would NEVER think of doing that! ;) I appreciate the suggestions, some will be good for everyday carry and some for the once a week carry........ not to give TOO much away in case someone I know is reading this. :D

Take care all,
Mike

When I don't want ANY possibility of printing, I pack a PM9 in a smart carry holster. The smart carry can accomodate larger guns too (with the right pants). A P-32 or P-3AT is also very easy to conceal.

Carry in Church

I normally left my weapon in my vehicle while in church but there have been killings in churches. Terrorists and nasties can do their dirty deeds anywhere.

When I need deep concealment it is a Kel-Tec P-3AT in a front pocket holster. For deep, deep concealment it is a NAA mini revolver. I have also carried a S&W J frame in an ankle holster when wearing the right pants.

I'll probably go with a P32 in a DeSantis Nemesis in a pair of 511 jeans. Sounds like this package would fit my budget and works for most.

For those who posted or e-mailed me on this, the post about carrying in church was tongue in cheek. I know very well that bad things can happen in church. One of my good friends is a member at Wedgewood Baptist (the scene of the first widely covered shooting in a church). Because of this I and a couple of my deacons carried every week (yes, I pastored for 10yrs. but am now on sabatical) to ensure we weren't next in the headlines. Please look at my original question and comment on church carry along with the info in this post. Where am I wanting to carry at? I'll give you two guesses and the first two don't count! :D

Thanks,
Mike
