What do you do if you run out of LPP?

Primers will return, but the question will always be if you're willing to pay the inflated prices? I'm pretty sure at my mid 70's age I have enough to last the rest of my life, so prices and availability don't bother me. But in my life I've paid $7.50 per 1000 to the last at $32 per 1000. So with about 60,000 primers stored now I'm likely not running out.

I reach for my stash of 45ACP cases with SP primer pockets and continue loading with SP primers. 😁

When or if I run out of LPP I will switch over to my SP brass cases. There are a lot of calibers these days that give you an option of Small vs Large. I made a decision about 8 yrs ago to buy brass with Sm primers if it was an option. The only ones I did not was with the larger Mag calibers which hold > 50gr of powder and those are not available in small.

Midway
Powder Valley
Natchez

all have large pistol primers in stock

I'm still using Winchesters that I bought at the San Antonio gun show from the early 2000's ($75.00/5000). Had 20k at that time and am down to about 3k now. When I run out I will buy more. I won't like paying the price, but I don't plan to stop shooting. I am looking seriously at small primer 45auto brass. Save the LPP for the 44mag and 45 Colt.

I bought 1K SPP .45acp once-fired brass awhile back. That’s my plan. LPPs will be saved for .44mag so that should last a long time!
