What do you feed your .308 for practice?

I handload my .308 ammo : Nosler 168 gr HPBT, 44.5 grains IMR-4895, Rem or Win brass, and a Rem 9-1/2 primer. These loads cost me 50 cents/shot with once fired brass and they give me consistent 2" groups at 200 yards, which is all I'm after.

Sierra 168gr BTHP over 45gr of Varget. It puts the bullets in one nice little ragged hole at 100y. I've only shot out to 500 yards with it so far. I'm going to sight it in for 600y when the weather gets a little warmer.

I was given a standard military ammunition can (packaged full with the match ammunition) that was rusty and crusty on the outside. The acquaintance told me his father was a member of the Army Reserve shooting team. So I thought to myself why not shoot it for practice. I didn’t expect much considering the conditions of storage during 47 years and the poor reputation of the 173gr (open base) FMJ. So I pulled out my old 40X from the safe and decided to shoot for groups at the 200yd line. So there you have it and I’ll admit to being very much surprised. That’s my story.:)
