chopinblock: 7.62x39 soft point, or jhp.

Which rounds might do well stopping a tubular 'block' known as a Florida Burmese python? Possibly a jhp 30-06?
It would take some real 'marbles' to go search for one.

i like your light .44 mag test. i would like to see what wolf 7.62x39mm fmj does at 150 yards. i would love to see what federal bulk 525 or 550 pack .22lr does at 150 yards(from rifle). i've seen what that amazing little round does in gel at close range(rifle). opens up just a little to make a bigger hole and penetrates 22" which is a little more than cci round nose blazzer but the federal actually causes a wound channel early.

I would like to see some side by sides of 357 magnum vs 38 special both out of 2" revolvers.
Always hear a lot of back and forth about the 357 being any better out of a 2" r

bullseyebob47, thanks for the heads up on the Federal bulk pack. I tested CCI Minimag and found that denim prevents expansion and without denim out expands pretty big but doesn't penetrate much.

JRWhit, good idea on the .357 vs .38 snubby. Any ideas on which loads? They ought to be fair to both sides.

Old School

I'd like to see tests on old school FP lead pistol bullets - 9MM, .357, .38, .45Colt, .45ACP - I've heard about non-jacketed FP slow lead bullets mushrooming out in a fashion mildly similar to an HP, but my Google Fu must be bad - just haven't seen any photos or videos of testing on old school stuff ( though iraqveteran8888 did some minie ball tests recently on his youtube channel ).

I agree with Sawdeanz's concept. I'd like to see results from common rifle calibers with different bullets (OTM, ballistic tip, soft point, etc) at distances, at least to 500 meters.

Do you bowhunt? If so it would be very interesting to see the damage that broad heads do. I've shot a few deer with my bow and it kills them nearly as fast as a high powered rifle and will easily break bone (including 2 spine shot deer).
