I was just musing this morning about things that we citizens might do to hinder our nation's enemies, and I came up with this... Remember the AIDS quilt? When all those people made a quilt square and the sent it in and some organization turned into a huge quilt, which they proceeded to parade around the country to promote awareness or whatever they wanted to do? Anyway, what about a "Target Quilt"? You could make up a standardized target "form", perhaps out of cloth even, to be "filled out" by a shooter in the proper manner. They could be sent to whomever requsted on for a small charge, with any proceeds going to a military families' charity or something along those lines. Brief messages could be included to our enemies, expressing 2nd Amendment views, in support of our troops, what have you. The squares could be joined together to form the "Vigilance Quilt".
Think about what this could represent. A large group of patriotic Americans, armed and proficient, united behind our country, and with enough wherewithal to spend a little time and money to give our enemies pause. The Japanese WWII feared our armed population immensely. "We cannot invade America... the will be a rifle behind every blade of grass..." I think a project like this could let the bad guys of the world know there there are alot of blades of grass around these parts. :D Might make some of these terror types think twice about operating on our turf.
Now, that's a rough outline of my hare-brained scheme. A gazillion details would still need to be worked out. Fair warning, I'm a poor 26 year-old working stiff with guns to feed, and have nowhere near the rescources to organize something like this. I would be willing to donate some time, and whatever else I can scrounge. Tell me what you guys think... who knows, maybe this could really happen. Thanks for opinions.
