What does your ffl transfer cost?

My current FFL charges $25 for the first transfer then $10 for each additional transfer done at the same time. Long guns and handguns are the same price. There are some greedy FFLs here who charge $40 and more... I doubt those get much business.

$25 for a transfer at an antique shop less then 4 miles from my house. That's the cheapest in my local region, hell *cough* Chicago would have to freeze over before their's free transfers anywhere around here.

Cheapest within 100 miles of the city of Chicago is $12. But I'd waste double that on gas alone.

My shooting range charges $25 and my LGS charges $75. I guess he is tring to even the price out some.

With CHL - $15 for single transfer. Last time it was $20 total for two guns. NW Houston.

30 bucks here (per gun) in my bit of central FL is the best I can get (local pawn shop). Some dealers seem to be charging 40,50 even 60 bucks....crazy.

I use two guys, both charge $20 per transfer. I can get them done elsewhere for $15 but I like the two guys I use. I have seen other dealers a little further away do transfers for $10.

WOW those are AMAZING deals! It must a California thing because I was looking at a Savage 10 FCP-k in 308 on Gunbroker and called around to find out what the fees would be or if it is cheaper buying it local and this is what I got.

Shop 1 Does not have but will order it and shop around to match the online price, if I did ask them to do a FFL transfer it is $100 bucks. Ok not bad I like thier attitude.

Shop 2 Does not carry the rife and spent 10-15 minutes telling how much better rifle X is over the one I want. I then asked about FFL transfer fees and he told me "I will not do them, I will not cut my own throat to sell someone else gun." Not looking good for buying a rifle here.

Shop 3 Does not carry the above mentioned rifle either and tried to talk me in to another one much like shop 2. This really sucks since they are VERY close to the house. As for a FFL transfer they will do it but they charge $160 + DROS + a sales tax. I told him it would be an out of state purchase and he said there is an out of state sale tax fee for that too. ??????

Shop 4 Again does not carry the mentioned name brand rifle, had very little interest in looking for one. When asked about FFL transfer fees it was $180 + DROS. He said nothing about other taxes.

You guy's that live in the free state I envy you!

The three actual gun stores that do transfers in my area within driving distance for me are $40, $40, and $25. The latter one being a newer store that's recently come to my attention. I'd like to give them a try. The other two are mom and pop stores, so I don't really mind supporting them at that price.

Two places, $25 or $30 respectively. I know of another place that charge $50.

Northern NJ area the going rate has been $50 for years. Many of the few places still around have even started charging $60. With the slim profit margin on firearms I guess I can't really blame them, but it really adds up.

Is it possible to even get a FFL in states like NJ?

Currently in Houston depending on the dealer (I use two or three different ones)I pay $15-$20.00.
I am simply not going to pay $35-60.00 for this period.
