Do you have a back story on that.. That sounds nice.. A conversion?? A photo would be moocho nice...I had the pleasure of shooting my FN-49 in 7.62X54. It's a pleasure to shoot and the ammo is plentiful. Nice day for the range also.
My father bought it at a gun store in NJ many years ago! There were a bunch of them in a barrel for $65 dollars apiece. He has had it for 45 to 50 years now and I just acquired it from him. It was part of the Luxembourg contract chambered in 30-06. Yes the crest is on the front of the receiver.
Oh; so it's in .30-06 ? I was also confused by the 7.62x54 nomenclature. Metrically, a .30-06 is a 7.62x63 IIRC. Thanks for the photo. It sure is a beauty.
