What gun conversations/threads do you not engage in? Not trying to be ironic.

I stay away from Glock threads, since they are not something I want or would own. I will never understand the glockfanatics so I stay away........ far away...............

Zombies. I never dug the concept but I would jump in and say "what's with the zombie business, you know they're not real right?" Never helps, it's getting bigger, I now no longer comment on zombie threads.

Does this holster make my butt look big? Oh sorry, I lost my head there for a second!!

I try to read only threads that I have personal knowledge of. If someone asks about a RIA 45 then I might read the OP but rarely read the answers because I don't have one and am not looking to buy one. If I own or have done a lot of shooting with a gun then I will weigh in because I feel like my hands-on experience could be helpful. I despise the posts where people ask about a particular caliber and the "mine is better" people immediately go off on tangents about why the OP should buy X caliber instead.

I also don't read posts that label a certain gun as "POS" or junk. One person's opinion of a manufacturer is not a reason to call a Hi-point junk and if they say that they have 25 friends that have owned them and all of them were junk then I might question their credibility. Yes, I own a Hi-point, several actually.

there is no perfect gun set,it is like saying what is better, blondes, brunettes, redheads, its all good, just depends mostly on how you perform with what you got.

For me the "looking for the perfect <whatever>" reads are bad.

I will read them, but try to not comment on them. Because there is no such thing as a perfect anything, anywhere, especially from strangers on the internet.

Open Carry
What Reloading Kit Should I Buy
Anything with the word "Best"
Anything with both the words "California" and "Sucks"

Which one should I buy.

If you could only have 1,3,6,10 guns what would you have.

Best XXX.

Anything Block related.

What do I need to have a complete Arsenal/collection/whatever.

Caliber wars.

Magazine vs Clip

Race/religion.

Usually anything that we just got finished debating, and the op was too lazy to do a search on. Sometimes the same questions are on the page that they posted on. And the, which gun would you take, which 2, 3, or however many guns would yo take, have, etc, and whch caliber, we have gone over some of this stuff so many times that it's almost impossible to do it again. Granted we have to have something to talk about, and that was pointed out to me once a while back by one of the Mods, who said if we don't talk about all those things, you wouldn't have a forum.

There's actually a lot of threads that I don't do, either here on THR or elsewhere.

I don't do the collector vs. shooter threads.

I don't do the tactical loadout threads - I couldn't care less what you are carrying and how much junk you're hauling around with ya in your wheelbarrow.

I don't do bear/mountain lion/alligator/wild dingo threads.

I don't do caliber wars.

I don't do which is the best gun threads.

I absolutely don't do anything with the word "bugout", or any EOTHW and SHTF threads.

I don't do Zombie threads.

I don't do AR Build threads. You didn't build it. You assembled it.

I don't do threads made specifically to bash a gun, product, company, ect.

And anything else that annoys, bores, or otherwise fails to hold my attention.

  • Bears
  • SHTF/TEOTWAWKI
  • 9mm vs 40 vs 45 vs 357 sig
  • open carry vs concealed carry
  • Your glock/1911/whatever is inferior to _______ because _______ .
  • My glock/1911/whatever is awesome sauce because _____ and clearly superior to ______.
  • "Oh, I shot my buddy's ______ and I could tell after 20 rounds that it was horribly inaccurate."
  • The best anything.

Doesn't leave much room for conversation these days!

Talk less, shoot more.

Pretty much any thread which is going to be a list of things instead of a conversation. Look at the first three pages of a "if you could have 5 guns" thread, and it's just people listing their 5. Very few include reasons for those 5, and virtually noone is debating, praising, or arguing with someone's list. Also, any thread where someone mentions that you have to have a specific gun or category (usually a .22 LR) to be a "serious shooter" or have a "complete collection", I have to point out that those specific ones aren't for everyone.

I used to love to jump right in the middle of gun control threads. I enjoyed the debate with the gun owners who don't actually think the true antis are liars, unethical and dishonest fascists, out for every last firearm from every last American alive.

But there's no shortage of gun owners who welcome government control of their fellow man. It's difficult to show a person what freedom is and isn't, when they are blinded by emotion and ignorance.

Eventually I just gave up trying to educate those who wholeheartedly hand over large quantities of liberty for a mite of security. I still launch a post every now and then, if for no other reason than to read the truth on my computer screen.

Revolver VS. Semiauto threads

They are two different mechanisms. Both do some things better than the other. Some are better for carry than others. Some people shoot one better than the other.

Shoot what you are most proficient with.

Shoot what you like.

Defense is about shot placement, and efficiency. "Stopping power" if you are using a generally accepted defense cartridge is not the issue, and you're probably fine.

Having 18 9mm bullets does you no good if you don't practice. Having 5 .357 magnum bullets that generate more power does you no good if you don't practice. So again, use what you are good with, not what someone tells you you should be good with.

Done with those threads.......... There is no argument, there is no debate, one is not better than the other, only a shooter is better than another, not the equipment.

I don't do threads like this one. :)

My interests change with time and whim, sometimes I'm on here looking at revolver stuff, sometimes l browse the rifle forums, sometimes I'm just looking for deals on gear.

Threads I avoid? Ones with hostility. :)

Let's see here....AR vs AK (vs Mini 14)...any Glock fanboy worship...or any fanboys of any brand that highjack threads, usually 1911 fans lol...pick your favorite one or five or ten firearms...caliber wars/comparison...what's the best lube/cleaning product......the list goes on and on
