What Gun Have You Owned The Longest ?

Mine is a Colt New Frontier revolver, 6" barrel & mag cylinder (22 LR/22 Mag). Picked that up in 1972 when I was 14. My Dad said I could get one if I earned it and boy I did. Raked up rocks off of new lawns in my neighborhood all summer long. Seemed like I moved 100 tons but it was worth it. Every time I went back in the woods with my friends I'd carried it (was farmlands before ....). I am now 52, the case hardened frame has alittle brown patina on it & it's been better that 30 years since I shot it, but I'll pass it on to my oldest son (now 29) and maybe I'll teach the grandchildren to shoot if my kids ever have any.

Ruger 10/22 that I bought from my Brother's buddy in 1986 or so. I have put well over 100,000 rounds through it and it still runs like a champ. The barrel is looking a bit smooth on the rifling, so it may get a second life as a Brownell's poster child.

Ithaca M-66 "Supersingle" 20 ga youth shotgun. 26" barrel, mod choke. I got it for Christmas about 1966. My first gun. Although my son has it in his possession now, I still consider it to be "my gun." He can call it his when I'm gone.

The oldest I have in my possession is a 12 ga Sears Roebuck pump gun. I guess I got it about 1977 or about then. Paid $99.00 for the gun with two barrels (choked and slug). Made by Mossberg it's the same as a Mossberg 500. Killed a few deer with that gun I have.

A Savage M24 .22 mag / 20 guage. I suppose I've "owned" it for 35+ years, but it has been on loan to my brother for about the last 20 years. So long that I had to buy another for my own use.

A Ruger Single Six that my dad bought in Montana when he was 12 for $12 and an adult signature on a match book cover.

Dad also bought me, when I was probably 7 or 8, a Browning made, Winchester 1895 in 30-06 when they did that limited run in the mid eighties.

Up until recently, I gave a Browning .22 rifle to my grandson that I bought in 1976. Wish I still had the Model 98 I bought in 1956!

A Ruger LCR which I bought 2 weeks ago and the government knows about.

I had a very tragic boating accident 3 weeks ago. Yes, the boat sank, too. Also the trailer and the hitch that was on truck. Very tragic.

marlin 39A Father bought new in 1954 gave to me at Christmas 1958 I was 12 It will go to one of my kids some day when I am done shooting it

Mossberg 500 combo given to me by my wife and FIL in the mid '80s (I was a late bloomer).

Got this new in February of 1973.

Technically I still own the Remington Model 581 22 rifle I got in the spring of 1968 but it's no longer in my possession and I hope the son of a bitch who stole it trips and jams the barrel up his ass right before it discharges.

Cheap Arminius HW 7 in .22LR imported by FIE. It's gone through probably 10,000+ rounds and is still very much functional. The revolver is 25+ years old.

My oldest continuously owned gun is my Remington 870. Purchase April 2, 1981. She has, however gone through a bit of a face lift to keep her young and vibrant.

Christmas 1975

Ithaca Model 49 single shot .22
(my brothers all got savage single shot bolt action .22 for their 12 Christmas, but I am left handed so Dad had to come up with something else for me)
