I have my basic pistol, rifle and shotgun bases covered.

Suggestions please on moderately priced, used, American made guns that are simply a joy to own and shoot.

Guns that might fit the bill could be a Model 1897 riot gun, a 1911 or a full size S&W .357 revolver. What other guns might fit the bill?

In other words, I have all the working guns I need, and I would like a gun just for fun, but I am not going to spring $7,000 for the Winchester Model 21 trap gun that I'm lusting for.

Ma Deuce.

Seriously any single action revolver. Nothing like a cowboy gun.

Thats Easy

Ruger Blackhawk blued in 4.62" bbl - and .45 of course. :D

For the last 12 years ALL my handgun purchases have had to have some possible CCW role. Not sure the Blackhawk could fill that niche (although I hear they make IWB holsters for them) so it would be pretty much a range or occasional woods gun (capable of dealing with hogs/occasional swamp monster/meth players in the forests North of Houston).

I shoot a lot of snakes, also I ride a motorcycle, so I bought what I consider a fun gun to shoot. I bought a Bond Arms derringer Century 2000, 410 or 45 LC When on the motorcycle Its in a right side shoulder holster, easy to get to while riding. A snake doesn't have a chance, also after seeing the stories about the python snakes moving north from Fla. I like It even more.

American made? A 6" S&W Model 19-3. From anywhere in the world? A nice Belgian or Italian O/U shotgun.

The Ruger .22 pistol of your choice. Mine is the Mark II 22/45 with 4ish inch barrel. The single actions are a blast as well. I have/had $1000+ guns. This one is the one that gets the most trigger time. Whether it is me or teaching someone else on this pistol.

Single Action Army from whatever manufacturer you like. I prefer the Cimarron models because of the nice finish. 4 3/4 " with the case hardening and charcoal blueing.

American design, copy made in Italy but finished in Texas. I guess that's American enough for me....

pure fun and addicting....Ruger Old Army's.......like fishing with a cane pole......instead of an expensive reel..........slow and sedate......with amazing accuracy

No greater pleasure in handgunning than an afternoon with a ziplock baggie full of 38 wadcutter reloads and a nice Smith & Wesson Model 14.:)

An N Frame S&W (in any caliber).

A nice lever action gun is always fun.

I'm not a fan of single action revolvers but if you like that sort of thing I guess I could see where they would be fun.

Hakim, semi auto in 8mm Mauser with mild recoil= fun. But then I'm a C&R geek.
