So now that I'm recovering from surgery I'm basically carrying 24/7. Not much differently than before, really, but now I'm less likely to leave my ccw under the floormat of my Honda when I go inside a suburban Starbucks than I was before. Basically I'm a weakling for the next several months, and I don't want to be stuck in a situation where I can't protect my family (Pregnant wife, two small kids).
So when I walk into a Starbucks to get myself a coffee, a brownie for my son, a lemon cake slice for my daughter, and a pastry for my wife, I have a SIG p232 in my pocket. 7+1 Santa Barbara jsp's. Desantis Nemesis holster, too, and an extra magazine in the other pocket.
There are bigger guns I could carry but its very easy to carry this gun in almost any casual front pocket, and its also easy to draw quickly. We often talk about what guns we carry to the inner city or in the woods. But I don't recall anyone asking what we carry to Starbucks (in my case in was Starbucks and Home Depot ;) ).
So, what guns have you carried to Starbucks?

You are kidding right? I mean...you actually have a certain weapon preferance that you carry into Starbucks and another one for...um, say Home Depot? Exactly what kind of operation are you recovering from?

I had to meet someone at a Starbucks once, I carried my normal Kahr PM9 in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. After the meeting I went to Home Depot and Staples, and continued to carry the same weapon. Funny how that works.

Why, the same thing I carry anywhere else! Most often it's either an SP101 or a Chief's Special.

I don't frequent Starbucks, since there's an independent coffee shop near my work and I like to support small business whenever I can.

I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Used to meet this chick there... (Never bought anything)

The same Kimber Pro Carry (on a Milt Sparks Summer special, on a wilderness belt with (3) spair 8 round mags)
And the S&W Bodyguard .357 In a Uncle Mikes Pocket holster with a speedstrip

That I carry every day.

I would check the "brandishing" laws before carrying into a Starbuck's.

Because when they told me how much they were charging for a cup of coffee, I would assume I was being robbed... :D .

Hi Dawgfvr. I guess another way to ask my question is "what weapon do you ccw when you are out and about in the great expanse of suburbia that we call 'America'". Starbucks is about as common as McDonald's, but in some ways is a little more upscale. Its less likely to be in the hood. Or a crime-ridden trailer park. Its probably in a "nice" part of town. But I also figured that since Starbucks are everywhere (as are THR members) we'd get an interesting variety of answers (i.e., "I frequent the Starbucks in Fairbanks, AK, not far from where I moose hunt; I normally carry a .45 LC Ruger Blackhawk with hard-cast 300gr slugs I load myself" or "There's a Starbucks on Cascade Rd I frequent right before I go on duty near "the Bluff" area of Atlanta, so I carry my S&W duty weapon in .40 S&W and 642 in an ankle holster").
Really, its just a way for me to ask what folks ccw when they are in what they assume is a rather benign area of town. But making the question Starbucks also brings out who frequents places like that and who doesn't.

Oh, plenty of folks have asked about my recovery. I am recovering nicely, thank you, but my activity will be limited for awhile. No strenuous work, heavy lifting, etc. But o/w ok.
Thanks,

David

I'd have at least a 44 Mag.

maybe a 500 S&W. Those yuppies are dangerous, visious, little creatures... Especialy when they are strungout on their fifth venti moca latta non fat skim soy milk chino.

Seriously though, I don't buy coffee in stores that force me to learn a new language just to order a cup of coffee.

Oh, and by the way... I don't care what they say, it's a large.

What better weapon to carry in a Starbucks than a Lahti?

I hate Starsucks with a passion usually reserved for people who might have raped my mother. They are the McDonalds of espresso. :barf:

As for my carry, I swap between a P97DC and a Glock 17 depending on mood.

Mark(psycho)Phipps( HAHAHA! )

I just get a regular coffee thier to go with my sig 229, the same as I do everywhere else

Actually I think their beans are pretty good, and I don't think the stuff they sell is anything like MacDonalds......and that's coming from a Seattle boy where we've almost got a coffee emporium on every 4 corners. Often, when I'm out in the great expanse of middle America, a Starbucks has been the difference between a decent cup of coffee and "dishwater". I'm not a coffee snob, but I just can't choke down that stuff made from a can, brewed in a unit that hasn't been cleaned in God knows how long ? There are still a lot of places around that offer up the "undrinkabe"....and God bless Starbucks for setting a standard across America...if nothing else. YMMV

Having said that, now that I have learned that Starbucks is anti-gun, according to a list I received, I try to make a conscious effort to go elsewhere. Wherever I go today, I'll have a Colt Detective Special concealed.

- Regards

I admit, I've been drawn into the lemming crowd like most Southern Californians. Their drinks suck, but the pastries are pretty good with hot chocolate. Then again, there's a starbucks at every corner... sorta like the Simpsons episode where everystore in the Springfield mall is a Starbucks except Flander's store.

Same as always, HK P2000. :)

Don't go to Starbucks . . . My coffeepot works just fine and there's hardly ever a crowd of whiny liberals in my kitchen.

I've never had a specific "Starbucks carry gun" but I've been a customer of theirs ever since I started carrying around 28 years ago (I lived in the Seattle area before moving to Arizona), so I can deduce which guns I've probably carried into one of their stores.

1. Sig P220 (actually a Browning BDA .45)
2. Browning High Power
3. COP
4. S&W 3913
5. Davis .32 derringer
6. KT P32
7. KT P3AT
8. KT P11
9. KT P40
10. Glock 22
11. Glock 26
12. AMT .45 Backup

I've pretty much settled on a Glock 26 as the all around best small carry gun I've ever found and the KT P3AT as my BUG. I'm experimenting with the AMT .45 (which is remarkably reliable despite all the warnings I got about it) as a full power pocket gun. I've tried other carry guns, but the ones listed above are the only ones that have seen enough carry time to have made it to Starbucks since I only hit the place a few times a month.
