What Do You Carry?

So, pocket carry is an interesting question but may need a little clarification for me
When I am putting something in a pants pocket, it is going to be my original LCP with the steel guide rod and 13# recoil spring

In winter, I sometimes carry in a jacket or winter vest pocket then it could be the same LCP or a revolver - usually the .22wmr DAO LCR - along with my daily carry on my hip. Having a revolver in the coat pocket, where my hands usually are makes accessing pretty quick in a down jacket. If needed a revolver will allow you to fire from the coat pocket I have theorized (though not tried this tbh).

I usually carry OWB with an LC9S up until recently when I switched to a security 9 compact.

I am a fan of snubs for pocket carry, and have a few moderns and a couple older ones, but I have to admit these days when I need something in a pants pocket, it is typically the little LCP in .380.

For the gent with the 1851s, I am also a fan of the 1851, and while I have not carried it, I have cut down an 1851 in .44 and have considered (maybe fantasized is a better word) weak side carry of the 1851 as a backup for my Birdshead .45 colt revolver.

If the question is just what do I carry, not what do I pocket carry, then, the answer is less complicated, while I have carried a lot of different guns, what I DO carry now is a Security 9 Compact in a strong side holster at 3 o'clock, and an LCP in .380 in a front pocket or jacket pocket sometimes i carry the Sec9 and the LCP, sometimes just one or the other depending on where I am going and how deep I need to conceal.

Yes, I still use a Serpa holster also.

I've carried various pistols and revolvers over the years, and this past year, now carry primarily a Sig P365 in a Tulster IWB... great combo! My 1911 CCO .45ACP is now my bedside gun and Glock 19 with Buffalo Bore Penetrators is my Backcountry pistol. Carry what you feel most comfortable with!

If I’m not carrying ol slabsides I’m most often with a Glock 19. As much as I try to find a better mousetrap, I always end up back with the Glock, eventually.

same goes for the SpiderCo. I often try different knives for a while but that knife always finds its way back to my pocket.

(I have since added Talon Pro grips, and I absolutely love them)

I posted about my current carry gun, a SIG 365. I had loaded it with FEDERAL 9m.m. 124 grain HST, but I did not like the snappy recoil, so I acquired some HORNADY 100 grain 9m.m. Lite FTX Critical Defense. The lighter bullet at the same velocity made this round much more comfortable to shoot, so it will be my carry load, in the 365. I placed controllability over power and I am still ahead of the .380ACP that I carried previously.

At the moment, I have a NAA Black Widow in a Desert Gun Leather "Driving Holster" and a Glock 29 in an IWB Comptac for backup.

A little Ruger LCP (original) in the pocket. Or if I'm wearing proper clothes with a belt I like to pocket carry a CZ82. I've got a jillion holsters and I've carried about every type of gun you can carry in every type of rig you can carry in, but the older I get the more I appreciate something that's just.... as ubiquitous as my car keys. It's just there if I need it, all the rest of the debate is fluff.
I've never heard my carry ideals written any more clearly than that.
My lcp or small 9mm in waistband.

is that an "old tymer" little blde there I see... those things were as popular as toys in a ceral box back in the day. lol

I like hearing what you guys carry. Gives me ideas on what I want to buy next. Depending on my attire, for warm weather it will be either an LCP 380 in pocket, LCP9s Pro 9mm in Nemesis pocket holster or LCR 38 spl with or without Galco pocket holster. In cold weather - any of above, Ruger SR9c 9mm holstered or Bersa Thunder 380 in coat pocket, based on accessibility for SD with what I am wearing. Most of time the LCR 38 spl wins out.

My EDC is my Wilson Combat Stainless Professional in .45acp. I carry it in a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 Inside the Waistband holster. I also carry a IWB Double Mag Holster on the opposite side.

My BUG is a KelTec PF9 9mm carried in the pocket of any pants I have on in a Galco Pocket Holster

The best pocket carry i had was a Jframe with a HipGrip. Hangs on the pocket but the handle stays out. Not the most comfy to shoot and you have to cover it with a shirt. I found the back pocket was best but can be used in front pockets and on the waistline of pants. I wrapped the grip in caloosa grip tape.

I was rotating through many of my revolvers, and often carrying my Steyr L9A1 up until recently I had some time to replace all bushings and grip screws on my two 1911’s

Now that that is done I’m carrying the Auto Ordinance 1911A1 pictured above almost every day. Sometimes I also have my Iver Johnson top break .38 snub for backup. The Colt is great also but if I had to loose one of the two to an evidence locker for a while I would rather it be the AO, and I also shoot it even better than the Colt.

Once this .30SC train gets rolling and the real interesting carry guns come around, I’ll probably switch it up again. Picture a 1911 (maybe an aluminum commander) with a double stack .45ACP width frame, only maybe a little shorter front to back and containing a 30+ capacity flush fit magazine of quad stacked .30 Super Carry. Nobody seems to be as excited about this as I am but I’m convinced it’s doable.
