Enough threads about what you got for Chirstmas got me thinking. Did anyone give a gun as a gift this year?

I got my Grandfather a Crossman Legacy 1000X Pellet gun. He has been wanting a good air rifle for a while now, and was quite happy.

Gave BIL a Springfield XD9 in OD green last year. He earned it though. It was mostly payback for the many hours he spent helping build my house. We moved in 4 days before Christmas last year.

I gave my Dad a Glock 26. I am either a great son for giving him a Glock or a bad son for giving him a Glock.

Got my son a new Black Powder rifle....Knight Master Hunter Disc Extreme. We're going deer hunting this weekend with it.

I'm 'giving' my friends an SKS. It's going to be mine, in my posession, but one of the primary reasons I'm buying it is for something for my friends to shoot a lot without much kick when I take them shooting.

Gave my dad a PO Tac-Four last year. This year I bought my nephew a Taurus 62 Carbine. Too bad he won't get it for another 10 or so years. Of course in ten or so years I will have broken it in correctly.

I am giving to my oldest granddaughter - turns 20 next month - the Marlin .22 rifle my father gave to me when I was thirteen. It was my first rifle. It will be her first rifle. I taught Vicky to shoot three years ago. She loves our trips to the range.

I am hoping that some day she will have a son or daughter who shares our love of shooting to give it to.

Got my wife a Kahr MK9. That is one sweet little gun! What a trigger! This fullsize gun carrying guy might've just fallen in love with a little'un. :D

Natedog,
That is exactly why I own a Marlin Model 60. Cheap ammo, fun to shoot, and even my novice shooter friends love it...and of course I am known to put a round or two hundred down range per session, myself.

I found my wife a SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET little Model 10 3" medium bbl. She has always preferred wheelguns to autos, and never been a fan of J-frames.

She thinks the 3" is perfection indeed.

And yes, I make sure she practices.

Under the tree. Now if my 9 year old would wake up I could give it to her :D It's 6:30 already! I don't remember sleeping this late when I was 9 :what:

Got the wife an old 22 rifle

My wife, who really isn't into guns, has been hinting at wanting a plinker so she can come out to the desert with me and shoot pop cans and such. She is noise and recoil sensative so a nice little .22lr should do the trick. She really like strange and unusual things (she married me after all) and I just happened to in the shop when some guy brought this nice little gem in. Remington 572 fieldmaster light-wieght .22 in buckskin tan. It was so strange I know she would love it. They only made these for four years (58-62) and the date code on the barrel indicates first-year production. the best part, the guy had it priced for quick sale $150.00, I have since see them for as much as $500.00 on the net :D Well, here are the pics...

I have my old neighbor my H&R single shot 20ga. a while back.

Came back in spades when my buddy gave me his AR for my wedding gift.

My ten year-old daughter got a stainless Ruger Mark II (KMK-4C) and a six-inch purple with purple flutes (her choice, not mine) Tactical Solutions Pac-Lite upper as one of her presents.

Excellent choice farscott. I got the 22/45 a couple years ago and now wish I had gotten the Mark II instead. I used to have one and liked the balance a lot better. My daughter has shot it and it was just too much for her though.

We tried quite a few combos before we settled on the Pac-Lite/Ruger combination. We started with my Volquartsen Mark II "Deluxe" with its six-inch heavy barrel; it was too heavy. My wife's S&W M41 was also too heavy unless she rested her elbows on the bench. A stock KMK-4C Mark II was good for a few rounds, but fatigue set in during lengthy sessions. She tried my ten-inch Pac-Lite on a Mark II, and it worked pretty good. She wanted something a bit shorter, so we settled on a six-inch upper.
