No American collection of WWII shootables should be without JMB's .30 cal. Browning 1919a4. Semi-auto versions are obtainable under 1K.

This list is tricky; it's what you personally consider necessary for a WWII list- I'd skip the Carcano, too.

Just saying.

DStorm- Tanks, Planes, and especially artillery all of which Germany had alot of, would have decimated the Swiss riflemen in weeks if not days. Remember, Poland had the finest horse cavalry in the world, and not too shabby of a military before Germany invaded- its just a fact that rifles and horses don't really match up well to to tanks and planes.

Ad Astra, I agree it seems easy but....if you look at main battle rifles only it becomes more interesting imho. The 1903 and the Type 99/38 are getting more expensive by the year and they have to be next in line

I'd suggest:

SVT 40
G-43
Swedish Ljungman
Swedish Mauser
Finnish Mosin-Nagants (M-91, M-27, M-28, M-28/30, M-39, M-30)
Dutch Mannlicher
Greek Mannlicher-Schoenauer
Hungarian M-95 straight pull carbine
French MAS-36

1919a4 ,BAR ,mg42, lewis, sumai ,ppsh43, ppsh41, sten ? would be a nice add ons and you can get them in semi so it would be a little cheaper then the class III ones

As far as Hitler not invading Switzerland becacuse that was where all the German money was....What nation was Germany's biggest foreign trade partner in 1939? FRANCE!
I think he just realized that the effort of invading Switzerland wasn't worth the return it would have generated for him in 1939 and 1940. Later on, it was too late.
The Swiss Air Force fought some serious battles with the Luftwaffe, and pretty much ran the board on them, using basically the same aircraft too!

ditto Avenger, got to it before I could :D See CB, the Swiss don't have just an ENTIRE armed population, ya keep thinkin armies and for some reason ya keep forgetting Hitler had his resources pretty well tied up with Russia as well as Britain and then we joined in as well, Hitler did not have unlimited resources ie; planes etc.. he barelly had fuel for his mechanized units, all ya gotta do is crack a book, hitler was overdrawn everywhere adding a country whos entire population is armed AND trained to shoot from infancy is a very heavy drain on already stressed resources, ya might find it intresting that Germany was constantly struggling just to keep soldiers armed with rifles and ammunition, they were using anything that could launch a projectile even old black powder 71/84s were brought back into service in some areas, Hitler was constantly struggling with fuel sources to keep planes in the air and many of Germanies planes were bombed sitting on the ground by allied forces simply because there was no fuel to get em outa harms way......

Now go take a look at Switzerland geographically and ya will discover that just getting there ain't no cake walk even if ya aren't being shot at every mile...... does the name "Swiss alps" ring any bells for ya? they are some very very bad mountains ya gotta be able to get through, planes of the day were sitting ducks tryin to cross the Alps, the other means in was by rail.... which was totally secured by the Swiss, by road ya say? Know what frostbite is? many an infantry man lost toes and feet as a result of it....

And all this while ya got EVERY member of the population takin pot shots at ya from 500+ meters out while you the German infantryman haven't ate more than 2 meals in a week, ya are pretty much frozen solid, low on ammunition........

yea it woulda been real simple, I got one of those German soldiers for a close friend he made that trip twice both times they were turned back just like every other attempt Germany made to try and sneak in the backdoor....

so tell me why is the Soviet union with all their much more advanced technology, there massive numbers got their a$$es handed to em in Afganistan if all ya need is superior air support, ya do know what kinda air superiority the Soviets had over the Afgans right? Why did we get our a$$es handed to us in vietnam? Korea? hell after all we had superior air support in both them cases too .......

ya might wanna actually think or like I mentioned, crack an actual history book before replyin
