What is the lowest velocity load you have run across a chronograph?

The lowest load for me was 2.5 gr of 700x with a 98gr dewc in a nagant revolver. It read between 380 and 387.
It was accurate.

I once did a very low starting load to compare a 30 year old can of W540 to modern HS6. The starting charge slow pitched 230gr 45s at about 350fps.

Interestingly, at that velocity you can see the bullet as it bounces back off a cord wood backstop, and smacks you. Also, that old W540 was indistinguishable from modern HS6.

Lowest bullet velocity was 480 fps, first load as I was working up a Mk1 38/200 load for my Webley Mark IV. I have also launched inert 40mm at ~250fps across it and my wife has fired arrows in the 150-200 fps.

About 50 fps.
My Son loves to crono his nerf artillery and organize them based on how 'operator' they are. He's nearly ready for a facebook account.

Teach them while they are young.

From a handgun?

Hornady 200 Gr FMJ-CT and W-231 powder in a 5" all steel 1911.

4.5 Grs gave 665 FPS and cycled the gun.

4.0 Grs gave 601 FPS and cycled the gun.

3.5 Grs gave 520 FPS and cycled the gun.

3.0 Grs gave 417 FPS. The brass stayed in the gun and the hammer was down.

2.5 Grs gave 276 FPS. The brass stayed in the gun and the hammer was caught on the safety notch/1/4 cock/whatever.

2.0 Grs sounded like phsssssth, droppped around 10" at 5 yards and bounced off the top of the chrono. The reading was 1960 something. (Don't think so). The brass stayed in the gun and the hammer was down.

245MBC coated from my 300aac at 790, My traditional bows are usually around 180-190, compounds 290-310, airguns 400-700, rocks from slingshot 150ish, rocks thrown by hand just read "error".....or bounce off the lcd....

258 fps. Silver state hardcast lead 158g RN bullet out of a 4" Ruger Service Six revolver when I missed a powder drop and only had a primer in the case. The bullet was skinny enough to exit the barrel without hanging up, I hit the target 10 yards away and the Chrony Beta Master caught the velocity.

Well great, I have now officially shot one of my chronographs, twice!

One bounced off the back and another hit right in the display, with 1 pump I had to lube the pellet to get it to make it completely over the chronograph at a blistering 45.7 fps.

I think you can spit them faster. That is awesome.

I have a RG 32 long which is the only gun of mine ever put over a chrono. It shot 365 with factory 32s&w ammo. The guy with the chrono wouldn’t risk a second shot as he almost shot his chrono with that one.
