I attended a local gun show in SW MO last year, the "damascus" knife vendor had rented dozens of tables with all sorts of variety and most were $85 up. It was IMHO beyond stupid the number of tables they rented and during the time I was there the leaf flo gutter people had more traffic. Next gun show they weren't nearly as abundant and for the most part the show was far better off.

Cheap Paki damascus is cheap because scrap steel hammer welded for a distinct finish produced mostly by acid etching. There's no real quality control and when you start checking grind lines at tips and the lack of strong shank to attach scales you discover it's actually worse than Chinese.

Damascus as a look attracts a lot of attention but so do Gold Invicta watches.

There was a bulk knife importer at the last gun show I went to. In Minnesota, 'gun show' has a lot less meaning than in most other places. They definitely were all Pakistan imports, you can always tell because of the gaudy materials - brass, dyed bone, a tasteless overabundance of poor- to fair-quality fileworking, and cheap damascus that has abysmal fit and finish and sometimes just inexplicably bad copying of famous designs. The worst offender I saw was a big pile of Tracker knockoffs where the transition between the grinds halfway up the blade was actually literally a completely unground piece of blade that was the full width of the tang sitting between two 'sharpened' edges. Made me throw up a bit in my mouth.

Purchased a new Condor Krakatoa and a Daggerr Sting. They both are well made and sharp out of the box. The Daggerr came in a much nicer box.

This is a forester's marking "hammer" that I'm going to turn into a horseman's hammer.

They replaced them with paint ball guns a long time ago.

I had no idea what it was, and it disappeared along with most of what I owned during our family's next move.

I wear XL gloves for reference. 20CV blade. I can get 4 fingers on. Fit and finish are perfect. Blade is centered. Nice snappy action on deployment.
