What is the most recent knife you bought?

Herman Knives Micro Sting.
2.95 inch blade.
M398 steel.
Titanium scales with steel lock bar.
Details are pretty nice on this one. Never have seen texturing like this before on an inlay. Looks like Death Valley. The color shifts a lot depending on the lighting. Goes from a brown color in yellow or natural light and more of a gray under cool white lighting.

I like the fluting in the titanium and I’m jelly of the M398!

Yeah the fluting is nice isn’t it? Thins up in the middle. It’s beautiful work.

My only complaint is that the color on the marketing image was far browner and vibrant than in person. Photo shop? Lighting? Don’t know. But I like it regardless.

Got a US-made ultra-stainless-blade (20cv) ball-bearing-pivot ZT a ways back. It turns out that ball bearing pivots are not especially stainless, and they trap water in them.

So then I got this non-stainless-blade (k390) spyderco endura with bronze bushing pivot. It is functionally more tolerant of moisture than the 20cv knife. Not an outcome I would have guessed.

The combination of very tough steel and serrations is amazing, speaking as someone who considers sharpening a knife to be a chore.

It has heavy flats that could pound tent stakes ECT,much like a updated WW2 OSS Smachet.

Love that Gladius vibe going on. That’s one bad A knife!

There is a running joke on Bladeforums that the correct answer to any "What's the best knife for..." question is always "SMATCHET."

The Maker does make a full on Gladius sword blade 14-16" . This is a pugio type design he makes various sizes of .This one has pretty flattened center areas and a well thinned out blade and is 2 1/2" across and weighs around 26 ounces. The end cap is a striking area as it is integral I am not sure of unground thickness maybe 5/16" . The wide blades are known as " gut shovel s" and the wound is obviously major for any thrust. Also they can chop as the mass is in the center of the blade edge when swung. I will buy one more short 4-5" hunter / Skinner all around knife from Old Ted as he is been making since 1980 and knows what he is doing as he is a master blade smith. His knives a very reasonable, and emmenently useable and rugged.

I feel like I got a good deal on this one. GEC 87 Oil Well Sucker Rod Wood. Cool knife but the 3.6 inch clip point is too big for my taste. I never checked the specs before buying it :uhoh: It’s a very nice knife however, with a fun little blade etch and shield.

What's the story on the hoof knife? I've had a few of those but none were special in any way. This one looks like it's not of the common type.
