Uh. It's not a K model. The K stands for "Kurz", short. The G36K also has a different muzzle.

what the hell is with the plastic mags??? throw the rifle against a wall and the rifle will be fine, but you'll have cartridges, springs, and broken pieces of plastic from a stupid plastic mag...

Maybe because plastic is light, and allows them to see how many rounds they've got? I assume that if they've been armed that heavily, odds are the dudes carrying them know what they're doing, so they probably won't have the "I'm going to throw my rifle at the BG, but maybe my mags will break" problem. Just a thought.

Ever handle a G36 mag? Most plastic mags such as Thermolds or Glock mags will not shatter.

OK, since it was brought up. Whats the deal with police wearing masks. I see it on the news all the time. They'll show a SWAT team and they will all be wearing masks. Is it face protection?

AFAIK, for that particular picture with the mask I believe it was inauguration time here in DC and bitterly cold. I would definitely want a mask if I had patrol in sub-freezing temps!
