Can anyone describe (or have a picture of) the sight picture of a Bushnell Holosight mounted on a flat top AR15?

Where does the front sight sit in the sight picture?

How do the front sight and the holographic crosshairs line up?

It's my understanding that you will co-witness the red dot from the EO/Bushnell with your front sight bead (if mounted on flat-top). Santa's bringing me the EOTECH!!

Try searching the optics forum on AR15.com....good stuff there. A whole thread on EO's.

The retical and dimensions of the Eotech and Holosight are identical. The pic above shows it perfectly.

If needed, I can post my holo atop my AR carbine.

lycanthrope, wouldn't the front site post be seen through the holosight?

I don't see it in that photo. Any other photos you have would be very helpful...I am considering getting one of these on my AR.

You don't see it in the above photo due to the focus being far away. Strangely your eye works in much the same way and you won't notice the front sight much at all. The small dot rests rigt on top of the post.

Mine has no front sight so I can't help you in that respect, but my next build will have a Holo with a BUIS and standard front post.

I have a Bushnell Holosight mounted directly on the flat top of my AR. The reticle is exactly like the one in the pic that Lex posted. It's a perfect cowitness. The little dot in the center rests right at the tip of the front sight which is also centered in the rear arperture. My rear sight is an ARMS #40 with an XS Sight Systems same plane arperture.

Strangely enough it seems, when I zeroed my EO tech, it does not at all line up with the front sight post. It is higher and to the left a little.

Perhaps your cheekweld when using the peep/ghostring sight aperature is a little off from center. Can be a little harder to get the same sight picture all the time, particularly with a collapsble stock. I don't think the Eotech suffers from parralax problems.....

No matter. As long as they both have a poitn of aim that works for you.

Concur. If POA/POI for each (red-dot, and BUI through the dead red-dot sight) match up, I would not think twice about it.
