It is evidently a new offering from Hi Point. A 9mm that comes with a 8 and a 10 round mag. Looks more compact than the standard models. MSRP $199
Its on their website

Even though I’m 64. I thought about getting the first Yeet Canon I saw just for grins. I’m too much of a gun snob to ever buy a” Hi Point”.

Well I saw one at the gun show this past weekend. I just couldn’t bring myself to even pick it up, much less buy it.

I still don’t know if it was because of me being a snob, or I just didn’t want to be seen buying it or caught with it. Kind like the joke about how a Moped is like a fat girl - they are both fun to ride, but you don’t want anyone seeing you doing it.

I was hoping it was in a proprietary cartridge , bottlenecked 31 caliber belted ultra hi point magnum- capable of pushing a 80 grain pill at 700 fps and the best part is the yeet cannon holds 5 of those bad boys. - of course I'm joking, I saw it's a plain old 9mm, get it together hi point.
Strange name, I think it's not very good.

The ad pitches this:
"Each slide is laser engraved with YEET CANNON G1" ... - as though that is a good selling point???

What horrible marketing.

I'd ride that Honda anywhere anytime.

Yeet Cannon - "Throw-away Gun"

Works for me.

Yeet - Slang, An exclamation often made while executing a dance move or throwing something.

You funny, GI!

You used Hi Point and compact in the same sentence.
Even with the qualifier of *more*, it is still funny.

Todd.

My 13 year old daughter says yeet is an indefinable term which draws its meaning largely from context, apparently.

Saw one of these at a gun show in Orlando a few weeks ago and sent a photo of it to my 15y.o. youngest daughter for a laugh.

I'm afraid it's one of those teen slang things that if you're not of that age you just won't get it. For her 13th birthday she wanted "yeet" written on her birthday cake. My kids get it, but even though they've both tried to explain it to me I still don't get it. Neither did any of the other adults who saw it on her cake!

Seems funny to me to name a gun that given that most of the people who "get it" aren't yet old enough to even possess the thing much less buy one.

Actually it was a huge marketing success, they even got HK to partner with them after HK tried to make fun of it. Think about that. The PR alone from all that Yeet business was huge and cost them next to nothing. The best marketing is the free kind and they got lots of it for this silliness.

LOL! I just became aware of the term yeet last year. The meaning changes with context.

A few examples.

Apparently this gun yeets bullets down range very quickly.

The day I retire I’m going to yeet down the halls on the way out the door.

I was yeeting down the highway when a deer jumped out and ruined my car.

It sort of means traveling an object by throwing, or conducting oneself in a quick and exuberant way. Is it silly? Yep. Is it stupid? I’m sure plenty of people think so. I guess every bit of slang starts somewhere though.

People would be surprised where the term homies started. It wasn’t in the hoods of New York or LA.

I don’t use the term in everyday conversation because I’m too old for it really. But I do find it mildly funny, and I think it’s purely because of the unclear and undefined nature of it.

I’m sure someone will buy these steaming piles based on the names alone. More power to them.

On second thought the name is perfect.
Because I am mildly amused by the pistol as well as the term.

I would've call it a Poo Kitty with the lazer engraving looking like a white stripe back the side. That's what my grandkids used to call skunks.
Kind of reminds me of the skunk of semi-autos. Just waddles around and stinks. I'll pass, I don't care how cheap they are.

Be still my heart...

Even if I wanted a Hi-Point I sure as heck wouldn’t want that silly phrase on it. Not sure why but that dumb “Dilly Dilly” silliness from Budweiser comes to mind.

I've never actually seen a Hi Point, let alone handled one. But there are lots of videos on YT of guys disrespecting them and trying, and failing, to break them. If $200 was all I had I'd be delighted to own one. Too bulky to carry, unfortunately.
